We
received an email
regarding a young Boxer
located in a Shelter
outside of our usual
rescue area. He was a
stray and had been kept
at the shelter for over
a month. He was
described as a very
sweet and gentle dog
(and exceptionally
cute), but they said he
was always overlooked by
people looking to adopt
a Boxer because he had a
long tail. They named
him Curly Fry. We took
one look at Curly Fry
and could not resist
saying we would take him
into our Rescue program.
We quickly made
arrangements for Curly
Fry to be seen by a
veterinarian for an
exam, heartworm test,
inoculations, and to be
neutered. Everything was
uneventful except for
the fact that he had one
undescended testicle
which was found and
removed. Poor Curly had
to have two incisions
instead of one. The vet
estimates his age at 2
years.
Everyone
who has handled Curly
Fry makes it a point to
comment about his
wonderful disposition
and his cute looks. They
say he is mellow and
very laid back. When he
was being transported to
the kennel he rode
nicely with another dog
and curled up and fell
asleep on the car seat.
One of the people who
took him in her car said
that if she didn't
already have 3 big dogs
she would adopt Curly in
an instant. She also
said she would be happy
to give him a good
reference.
Curly
Fry is currently at a
boarding kennel and will
be moved to the
Northeast this coming
weekend. We do not have
any foster homes
available so he will
have to go to another
boarding kennel if we
can not find someone who
can take him by then.
PLEASE help us
put Curly Fry into a
home. Please submit an
application if you want
to foster or
foster-to-adopt
wonderful Curly Fry. He
will be sure to put a
spring in your step.
