08/25/04 - Memorial We are sad to report that Willie has died. He was vomiting his food while in foster care, and we immediately transferred him to the hospital to be examined and diagnosed for a possible intestinal blockage. The doctor gave him a series of barium x-rays which ruled out a blockage problem. He was being kept on IV fluids, given small amounts of special food, and was under close observation at the hospital. Unfortunately late in the afternoon he developed bloat and he was rushed to a specialty hospital to undergo surgery. Poor Willie survived the initial surgery to repair a 360 degree torsion of his stomach, but arrested several hours later. All attempts to revive him failed. Please click on the following link to learn more about this serious medical condition bloat/torsion which is nothing short of a life-threatening emergency!! Knowing this information may someday save the life of your canine companion. 8/12/04 -Willie Willie is a white male boxer that came into a local PA shelter after his sister died and the brother he has lived with his whole life began attacking him after the pack order was upset. He is very sweet and good with kids. We would like him to go with a female dog or he can be an only dog. He is neutered and up to date on shots and housebroken. He is a great dog in need of a great home. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an online application first. Then e-mail the contacts below.
