Bella is a Name a Boxer dog!

Bella has been adopted!

4/23/05 - I picked up Bella from a Bulldog rescue she had been staying with for the past three weeks.  Gail, the nice woman who runs the rescue, didn't have the room to keep her, and we were called to help.  The family that surrendered Bella purchased her from a "breeder" who sold her as a purebred Bulldog.  Her energy was too much for them so they turned her over to rescue.  

Although Bella has "papers", Bella is definitely not a purebred Bulldog.  We believe that she is most likely part Bulldog, part Boxer.  When Bella was taken out of the kennel, she was full of energy.  She just couldn't get enough attention.  She went into the car without any coaxing.  She calmed down in the car and enjoyed the 45 minute ride to her new foster home.

Once home she was introduced to my Boxer, Jake.  After some initial posturing on Jake's part, the two of them got along fine and ran around together in the yard.  Once we brought her in the house she went exploring, but always kept coming back to us to make sure we were still there.  She did settle down after a little while and plopped on the floor next to us.  One thing she isn't, and that is graceful.  When she lies down, she just throws herself on the floor.  It's very dramatic and extremely cute.  

So far, she hasn't had an accident in the house.  She went right to sleep, and we didn't hear a peep out of her until this morning when we let her out to do her business.

Bella is a great dog.  She's very cute and just wants to be loved by everyone around her.  She's going to make someone a very proud parent and anyone would be lucky to have her.
