Linzy is a Name a Boxer dog!
Thank you Kimberly Hatley for naming Linzy. This is in honor of my granddaughter Lindsey - she would like hers to have been spelled this way.”

5/15/06 - Linzy has been adopted!!

5/6/06 - Linzy is growing so fast.  Her legs have gotten very long, she has sprouted spots all over her little pink body, and she has discovered that mud makes lovely grey fur!  She spends her time wrestling and tugging with our other dogs, but finds a quick moment to grab a refreshing cat nap.  Speaking of cats, Linzy has started to make peace
with the cats.  She is less inclined to want to capture and sit on top of the feline residents (let's just say this is a refreshing improvement if you happen to be one of her victims).

Linzy is almost house-trained (yeah), however the rainy days have proven to be
challenging because she does not enjoy getting wet. She is a very early morning riser, but finds sense in putting herself to bed at a reasonable hour.  She seems to be a creature of routine and will (loudly) remind you if a cookie is forgotten when she crates herself for bed.

She is truly a lovely dog and is proving herself to be quite smart.  She has learned several hand signals, including "sit", "thank you" (for when she does in fact sit) and "off" (for those times when table surfing isn't approved by the humans in her house).  She is a true joy and it takes only a moment to fall in love with her.

3/14/06 Linzy is a ten week old white female Boxer with no markings other than a cute little black blotch on her nose.  She came into rescue because the people who purchased her, one week prior to surrender, were not able to move into their new home as expected.  They felt that their apartment was not the proper place to raise a puppy.

Linzy has a definite hearing deficiency that appears to be total deafness, but that has not been confirmed with BAER testing.  She is well adjusted and charismatic.  Linzy is able to entertain herself (and a room full of people) with a mere tennis ball and a little area in which to run and leap.  She is not yet house-trained but she is making great strides towards signaling when she needs to go out.  We took her to the veterinarian to be vaccinated and examined, and the doctor declared that she is “a very nice, healthy puppy”.

Linzy is settling in quite nicely with her foster brothers and sisters.  She delights in the exuberant wrestling matches with the other dogs and she has made it her special project to investigate and annoy the cats.  Snuggling into a pair of arms following a hard session of play is her favorite pastime; after she catches a quick nap she is ready for the next adventure.  It will be a difficult day to see her off to her “forever” family, but we will have been fortunate to share a little of the joy that Linzy has to offer.

A home with a fenced yard is a must for Linzy, and another family dog would be a big plus.  We will be scheduling an appointment for her to be spayed as soon as possible.
