7/12/06 - Angus & Kayla have been adopted!

6/6/06 -

Kayla and Angus are super dogs in every way.  Kayla is a 3 year old purebred Yorkshire Terrier and her “brother” Angus is a 4 year old Yorkie mix.  Kayla only weighs 5 ½ pounds and Angus weighs a hefty 16 pounds, however Kayla rules the roost.  These wonderful dogs came into rescue because the new baby in the home has allergies.  This charming pair must be adopted together.  Below is a report from their foster mom.

“Who will be the lucky ones to take these two sweethearts home?  Kayla and Angus arrived in our home and fit right in with our boys.  Kayla immediately made it clear to them what Angus already knew, although ten to fifteen pounds lighter than the others, SHE is in charge!

Kayla is one of the kissiest and most loving little girls you'll ever meet.  She seems to have springs in her legs as she attempts to reach up to anyone in need of kisses or a serious face wash.  When she's not "hopping" around she loves her bed and will roll on her back for belly rubs at the drop of a hat.

Angus is a great lover of belly rubs too.  He lets Kayla wash his eyes, step on his head and push him out of his bed with the tolerance of a saint.  What a loving little boy he is.  Hold him, sleep with him, take him for a walk (or run), he's happy doing it all just to be with you.

Both are good on a leash and love to "go out"!.  Angus and I had some alone time yesterday and went for a nice walk.  After a little pulling in the beginning (due to excitement I think) he kept pace right next to me.  It was really nice, he did not to have to stop every few feet (like our boys) to smell the, uh, "roses"!

Although Angus and Kayla are really bonded, they seem to get along fine with other dogs and all humans (they are also good with cats).  I have spoken to both of them individually, telling them what a wonderful life lies ahead for both of them.  They will gaze lovingly into your eyes when you talk to them, seeming to understand every word.

Hope you enjoy the photos, the one that looks like a little helicoptor is Kayla (she was very matted and had to be shaved, and is recovering nicely from her spay surgery), in a few weeks she'll be a perfect Yorkie specimen.  As you can see, Angus is a very handsome boy!”
