Pony is a very handsome boxer who was surrendered to rescue due to a lifestyle change. He was originally rescued from an abusive household where he was beaten as a puppy and kept in a crate 24/7. Therefore Pony understandably has an aversion to being crated. He will need a home where people are around most of the time so they can patiently work with him to relearn that a crate is not a punishment or an isolation chamber.

Although Pony never lived with children, he appears to enjoy their company and is very gentle. We will consider children in the home but they must be 8 years or older. Pony is also very athletic and can clear a 4 foot wall. His new home must have a secure fence that is at least 6 feet tall, or we may consider a professionally installed underground fence.

We have recently sent Pony to be neutered and he is ready for a new home. He is currently in doggie daycare and is doing as well as can be expected since he is not in a home environment. He is very good with other dogs, but we are not sure about cats. Please consider fostering Pony or contact us about adoption.
