ROCKY the Rocket-Man

Rocky is a male brindle boxer who came from a pet store in New Jersey.  He spent several weeks of his life in a cage in the pet store being treated for soft bloody bowel movements. The owner of the pet store contacted NBR and asked if we would take him.  This is the second time they have contacted NBR to retrieve a Boxer pup under their care (Nora who has been adopted was the first).

We are happy to say, that with the help of NBR Volunteers Paul and Robin, arrangements were made to pick up Rocky from New Jersey.  Rocky was transported to his foster home in New York and is now doing great.

Rocky (nick-named Rocket), is a very happy and energetic boxer puppy.  After a steady diet of homemade rice and chicken, his condition started to improve.  When we took Rocky to the Veterinarian for his check up we received great news…other than being undernourished, Rocky appears to be in perfectly good health.

After a few weeks on a steady diet, getting love and attention, Rocky is doing great.  He has a good appetite and waits very patiently for his food (sits in the kitchen while everyone’s meals are being prepared).  Rocky has gained weight, is filling in nicely, and is getting stronger and bigger each day.  We have scheduled an appointment for his neuter and he will be ready to be adopted as soon as he recovers.

Rocket has a great disposition, plays, sleeps, and gets along well with other animals, (the foster home has 4 other dog’s and 3 cats). They pretty much share everything. This handsome little charmer  is a very sweet and loving boxer puppy who needs lots of love and attention.  He likes to cuddle with you on the couch and prefers to sleep on the bed.  He really doesn’t like to go in his crate which is understandable.  Rocky is not yet fully house trained but is getting much better at letting us know when he has to go out (but he is still a puppy after all and accidents happen).

Rocky the Rocket Man is very smart…he knows his name, listens when asked to sit, and is presently learning how to shake hands.  Rocky will make a wonderful addition to any home with people who will provide the love and attention that he deserves.
