BELLA THE BEAUTIFUL

Bella, nicknamed Bell Bell, is a beautiful 3 year old boxer who is being reluctantly surrendered to NBR.  She is loved dearly by her family but unfortunately Bella is not getting along with an older jack russell terrier in the home.  The family has done everything they could to make things work but the outcome has not changed. Although Bella is fine with other dogs outside of her home we feel she would be best being placed as an only dog.  We do not know how she is with cats or small animals so a home with no other animals is preferred.

Bella is an amazing, loving, sweet, and energetic boxer.  She is initially timid with men, and some women, but she has never been aggressive to them.  We have found that if you ask her to sit and give you her paw (preferably with a little treat) it helps her feel safe.  Once she shakes someone’s hand she lets them pet her, and then she is at ease.  She thrives on attention and loves to be loved.

She sits for her food and is fed twice a day.  She has good doggie manners and knows sit, stay, give paw, and go to bed.  She’s a smart girl who learns quickly.  Bell Bell rarely jumps up on people unless she is overly excited but, when she does jump up, she gets down when asked.  Bella likes to sleep in bed, under the covers. Bell Bell is allowed on the furniture as well (she likes to cuddle).

She loves to run in the back yard and likes to chase a tennis ball when it is thrown to her.  She is versed at playing soccer too.  She also loves her hard rubber chew toys.  She currently has a fenced yard where she can run and play safely.  Bella is “pretty good” on a leash but could use some practice.

Bella has had a mild allergic reaction to the Lyme disease vaccine (ie face swelling) which required Benadryl. Therefore care must be taken when she is given inoculations.

She truly loves being fussed over.  She loves to be scratched and petted everywhere.  She does not swim, however, she tolerates a nice day at the spa and having a bath, manicure and pedicure (what girl doesn’t =).  She is not a fan of the vacuum (what girl is =).
