Lily’s foster mom reports:

“We are learning more every day about this wonderful young boxer. Lily is a spunky, curious, young girl and loves to run around in the backyard, which is completely fenced. She is cute as a button and LOVES to snuggle like a bug in a rug, of course, after a full day of activities. Lily enjoys her walks but needs a bit of guidance on her leash. If you allow her, she will be the one walking/running you! We are working on some basic commands; she will do ANYTHING for a treat.

Lily adores the kitties, however, more as a form of entertainment =) They, on the other hand, are not so fond of her. I think she will do better in a home without cats. She needs an active family and would do best in a home with older kids (12 and up). She is much too exuberant for toddlers/youngster; she almost had me horizontal a few times!

Lily must be feeling more comfortable…she does have a firm sturdy bark for people passing by

and will also alert you to any exterior noises in close proximity to the house.

Lily is longing for stability in her family life and is saddened by separation, however, once she realizes she is safe and secure, that will subside & she will be ecstatic!”

Update from Lily‘s foster mom:

“Lily joined our household about two weeks ago. You wouldn’t be able to tell that she hasn’t always lived here. She has completely settled in. She loves to play outside with her foster siblings and very willingly shares all the toys and her food bowls. I have yet to hear her bark but she does do some soft whimpering every once in a while from her crate. She is house trained and knows ‘sit’ and ‘treat‘. She has to be encouraged to get on the sofa or bed. She likes to sit and wait until you call her up to you. She ABSOLUTELY loves to sleep with you. It doesn't matter if it’s up on the bed or on the floor. She falls asleep the minute I do and then has to be woken up no matter how long it has been. Lilly does have a tendency to jump every once in a while but will get down when you tell her to. Lilly just wants to be loved and be part of someone’s forever family. Please adopt her so she can love you as much as you will love her.”

LILY WILL WIN YOUR HEART…

We received a call from a shelter about a young female boxer that was surrendered to their facility.  When she arrived at the shelter she was completely reactive and scared in her surroundings.  They did not feel they could adopt her out.

After we agreed to take her into our rescue program, the shelter did a little research and found out that her previous “owner” had to “go away for a long time".   Lily was left in the care of his elderly mother, and was kept crated on the back porch.

We had Lily transferred to a vet hospital to get spayed, heartworm tested, and to update her inoculations.  After her arrival to a safe and friendly place she was a completely different boxer girl.  She was extremely loving and affectionate.

Below is the first report from Lily's foster mom:

“ I just love Lily.  She is such a great dog.  She is completely different from when I picked her up.  Now she is a very confident energetic girl who just loves attention and playing.  It almost seems like she was just waiting for a chance to be herself.  Thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet her.

After three days Lily has settled right in.  The shy and cautious girl has vanished.  Lily is full of personality and has been wonderful to have around.  Lily loves to play with her foster brothers and sisters ( two boxers and a lab mix.)  She is full of energy and LOVES to play outside in the fenced yard.  She happily shares her food bowls, treats and toys with whomever wants them.

Lily seems house trained and knows how to sit and lay down.  She walks well on a leash and is very friendly to everyone she has met. She loves to cuddle and her eyes just sparkle when she is being pet.  Lily is a beautiful girl inside and out and she deserves the very best family.  Is that you?”
