04/29/10: ADOPTED ...
Another lucky boxer boy!
12/15/09:
Fallout Is
Looking For A Family To
Shelter Him
Fallout is
approximately two years old
and according to the intake
records of the shelter that
he came from he weighs 42
pounds (but he is obviously
underweight). He was a
stray that was not claimed
and was scheduled to be
killed in an over crowded
City facility. The staff
named this cute boy Fallout
because when he is happy his
tongue falls out the side of
his mouth.
He initially
had an upper respiratory
infection which has been
treated and he is now fine.
Fallout has been neutered,
is up-to-date on his
inoculations, is heartworm
negative, and ready for his
new life in a permanent
home.
Below is an
update from Fallout’s foster
home:
“When I
went to pick up Fallout,
what was supposed to be a 5
hour trip turned into an 8
hour ride because of the
traffic, and he was an angel
the whole way. He didn't
make a peep. He was the
perfect passenger. When we
got back home I let him out
of the car, brought him in
the house, and he was right
at home.
Fallout
played with some toys that
were on the floor and made
fast friends with my white
deaf Boxer Alfie. He
was even sweet and gentle to
my 11 week old Dachshund mix
puppies that I am fostering.
He kissed them and snuggled
up to them. When it was time
for bed, I of course let him
sleep with me and he laid
right next to me and tried
to make out with me all
night! Finally, I had to
tell him to stop kissing me
because it was time for
sleep.
Fallout
appears to be housebroken
and is very sweet. He does
need some training on the
leash and some basic
obedience work. He is strong
but, if wearing a harness,
he walks
well. He listens
to me when I tell him to
come and when I redirect
him. He just wants to
snuggle and play.
He even got
the chance to meet my female
Boxer, Matilda, aka Tilda
the Hun, and when she tried
to eat him, he didn't do
anything back to her. I do
not think he has a dominant
bone in his body. He will
growl when he plays, but
that is nothing. Most of the
Boxers I have had and
fostered play that way, so
it shouldn't be confused
with aggression.
Fallout is the cutest and
sweetest dog. He will make
some family very very
happy.”
