Boom Boom is
a very
cute 9 month
old boxer
mix who was
surrendered
by his
family
because he
was not
getting
along with
their male
Sheltie.
They got him
through a
“free” ad on
the internet
a few months
earlier
where he was
living in an
apartment in
“a bad
situation”.
The family
who called
asking for
our help
said they
were leaving
Boom Boom
outside and
he kept
getting out
of the yard.
They lived
on a busy
street and
we decided
to take him
into our
rescue
program
because we
could not
stand the
thought of
this sweet
boy being
killed by a
car.
Boom Boom
was not
neutered and
there was no
documentation
that he was
ever taken
to a vet.
We have
taken care
of all his
medical
needs and he
is healing
well from
his neuter
surgery.
He is
waiting for
a
loving
family
to adopt him
so he can
finally have
a stable
environment.
Below is an
update from
Boom Boom’s
foster mom:
“Boom Boom
(or Boomer
as I call
him) is
doing great!
He was
dropped off
last Friday
morning to
be neutered
at Tufts,
and since we
had no
history of
veterinary
care he was
also
vaccinated
and got a
heartworm
test.
Spenser (my
older boxer)
and Boomer
have been
playing
GREAT since
Tuesday and
can be loose
together in
the yard.
My boxer boy
JoJo could
care less
about
playing
rough- he
thinks he is
more of a
person
anyway.
As I type
this email,
Boomer is
lying by the
office door.
He is very
sweet,
affectionate
and loving.
Whoever
adopts him
has to
realize that
he hasn't
had any
training and
they have to
start from
square one
like he is a
12 week old
puppy!
He is very
smart
however and
learns
quickly.
Like the
former owner
mentioned, I
think he
could be a
"bolter", he
tried to run
out of the
back yard
when I
opened the
gate to my
driveway
this
morning-but
I grabbed
his harness
before he
made it
through the
door.
I think it
would be
safer for
him and
easier for
his new
family to
have a
securely
fenced in
yard!”
