02/07/12: OSCAR IS
ADOPTED !!! 01/24/12: Oscar Is All
Boxer Great video
of Oscar:
http://youtu.be/342k9qdTlt4
Oscar is a big playful
lug of a dog. He loves
to play tug-o-war and is
very much a
boxer...which means if
you don’t watch it you
will have a big boxer
paw in your face when
playing.
He gets
really excited outside
in the snow and will run
through it with abandon.
He will also jump up and
try to bite the snow out
of the air when there is
snow shoveling going on.
When Oscar isn’t
playing, he does a great
impression of a 70 pound
lapdog.
Oscar is
a "velcro" dog and will
do his best to sit next
to you or on top of you.
He also likes to follow
you from room to room.
He hasn’t had any
accidents in the house
but has decided that
slippers are a good
chewy.
Oscar
generally sleeps through
the night on a dog bed
in the bedroom but will
be bedside to greet you
when he hears the alarm
clock go off in the
morning. When left alone
at home, he prefers
having a radio on. He
does well on walks and
when meeting other dogs
and people, although he
will try to steal a kiss
if he thinks he can.
Oscar is all boxer
and a true pleasure to
be around.
12/30/11: Oh' Oscar!
This boy is truly
amazing! He spent the
holidays in a foster
home with four other
boxer buddies and a cat.
He was the best foster
we had in regards to
blending with the rest
of the crew, we took
things very slow and
gave everyone their
space however, we had
absolutely no issues. By
the end of the week
everyone was out
walking, sharing the
couch for naps and
playing together! While
Oscar may have lived
with a cat previously he
was too curious and
interested in ours so we
had to keep those two
apart. Oscar is a
amazing boy and who ever
adopts him is going to
get a real great love
bug, and truly devoted
friend!12/21/11: Oscar Is Not A
Grouch!
We received a call
from an overcrowded
shelter in Montana
asking for our help with
a 2 1/2 year old boxer
that was soon to arrive.
His name is Oscar and he
was an owner surrender
due to a new child in
the home. The shelter
was full and they were
concerned; temperatures
were forecast to be
below zero degrees and
there were no indoor
kennels available.
An NBR volunteer in
Montana heard about the
dilemma and quickly
networked and made
arrangements to get him
from the shelter to
safety.
Oscar is
a real sweet boy and
came to us with a good
understanding of words
such as "sit", "stay",
"down", "shake", "wait"
and "leave it". When we
picked Oscar up he was
very excited and all
boxer wiggles. We were
told he was trained not
to give kisses, however
we got lots of smooches
and loved every one of
them. Oscar was quick to
use his big brown boxer
eyes to beg and look
cute in hope for getting
treats while riding in
the back seat of the
car; it worked every
time.
Oscar
walks well on a leash
and has a funny jump,
which is more of an
all-four-feet bounce.
Oscar loves stuffed
animals and enjoys
playing fetch.
We
were told he was good
with the cat in his
previous home and gets
along well with other
animals. We can confirm
he loves his people!
This boy is a real
catch and we are
grateful we were able to
help Oscar.
