We at NBR, believe that a Boxer is just about the perfect friend.  However, he or she will demand a lot from you.  They'll rely on you for nearly everything; food, water, shelter, protection, training, exercise, grooming, veterinary care, and of course love and companionship.  While it is important to choose the right Boxer for your needs, it is equally important to ensure that you can meet theirs.  You must prepare for their arrival, and make them a well-mannered and welcome  member of your community.   The responsibilities of being a guardian of any dog are great, but the love and friendship you'll receive in return is priceless.

PHOTO Requirements

1. Submit 2 high quality photos via email (our preferred method) or mail your photos to NBR and we will scan them. Please include a self addressed stamped envelope if you would like your photos returned.

2. No pictures of your dog wearing choke or prong collars are permitted, and please, no "Dog-Show" photos.

3. Please send us the name of your dog(s) when submitting your photo(s)

4. You may make a request to have your dog's photo placed  in a certain month, however, we cannot guarantee this spot will be available. Special requests are granted on a first donated first filled basis.

5. Last day to submit photos 9/10/12 (unless calendar spots are filled prior to this date)

TIPS on taking good photos

• Make sure the background in your photo is not unattractive.

• Be aware of the lighting. Natural lighting outdoors is usually best.

• Look at the color of your dog’s eyes in the photo.  Use the red-eye function on your flash if applicable.

• Make an effort to send clear pictures. Blurry photos make poor calendars images.

• If using a digital camera, use the highest resolution possible.

• Take many photos and select only the best!

• Be creative. Artistic photos are encouraged and appreciated.

• Find someone to help you. Getting good photos of your dog is always easier if you have a helper to keep the dog in position, to look the right way, etc.  

• Toys with squeakers or a high pitched voice sound can help you get your dog’s attention.

• You don't need to include your dog's entire body in the photo, unless appropriate.

• Holiday photos and theme related can be useful for certain months.

• Capture your boxer’s personality. Take pictures of your dog doing what they love the most.
