When I got him, I looked into his blue eyes and the name Shmitty just popped in my head so that was his name. Megan Category: Happy Story Age: 14 State: Nh Date: 12/12/2003 Story: Hey my name is megan i got a boxer pupy in the summer my neiober had a litter andi watched these puppies since they were a couple hours old till 12 weeks and i fell in love with this little fawn female nobody wanted her but i showed my mom and this little pup would see me and fill me with kisses and then i new i had to raise the money by working so i worked and got the money and my parents let me get her!She loves to sleep in my bed with me but shes getting so big now that theres no more room for me so sometime i sleep on the floor cause shes a giant. Shes a funny one and everyone loves her! she loves to pretend she a cat so she chase cat toys and rolls them with her feet shes a cuty! well nice talkin and i love Trudy very much thats her name and she 3 1/2 mo megan |

He is sooooo cute but he barks alot and he goes in the garbage alot!!! Well.... the other boxer is 3 years old and her name is Cassie!!!! She is also a cutie pie. I hade another boxer and he died 2 years ago... He was 11 when he died... His name was Duchie but Dutch for short.I miss him. Well anyway here is a funny story that I whould like to tell you. Well I am going to tell about Ozzie first... Well one day me and my brother Troy were in our pool when suddenly Ozzie went on our raft and he went in the pool and he jumped on it and he was laying down on it. It was sooo cute and funny!!! Now I am going to tell about Cassie!!! One time I thought Cassie how to climb up our hard Jungle Jim. Sooo Cassie climed up and went down our cool slid. She sat down on it. It was soooo cute!!! Our oldest dog Brutus is between 12 and 14. We rescued him about 2 or 3 years ago. He is very sweet and energetic for an old dog. We were just fostering him but then I fell in love with him so we just had to keep him. In the morning when he eats he does a dance, and twirls around. It is the funniest thing! Rudy, the pipple mix, is an escape artist. He just loves to get out and run. We have to train him.Jessie,our only female, will eat anything because she has food aggression. Jessie is just too cute when she sticks her teeth out! Jake is such a great dog. He does nothing wrong. I love all of my dogs so very much I would do anything for them. Camille<3 |

Name: allison NEW Category: Other Age: 12 State: CT Date: 08/13/2003 Story: when i was 3 years old my family bought a boxer dog named judy. every day my sister, cusion, and my best friend becca would play with judie until we all we really tired. judie was always there for us, like the one time that we were playng in a park adn all these bees attacked me so i started running away but i forgot my sweater on the bench but i couldnt get it because the bees we setling on it. so judie went through all the bees and got y sweater for me. also on the day that we moved i was only about 4, but i really didnt want to move away from everyone in my old town so i was crying all the way to my new town and judie wouldnt leave my side. our new house had a huge hill in front of it so every winter my sister adn i would take judie sledding with us. she would chase us down the hill. then one day when i was 5 or 6 i got home from school with my sister and my grandma was at our house. the phone ringed and my mom picked it up and started to cry. judie was in the vet and the doctors said that she had cancer so they told us that they had to put her to sleep. we were so sad but now, 6 years later, my mom is letting us get a new dog fomr boxer rescue. we are so happy that we are finally going to have a dog in our house again! |

Name: clancy NEW Category: Happy Story Age: 7 State: new york Date: 07/29/2003 Story: my boxer dog is cool if you pick a child up my my dog will bark but she will not bite scratch or do anything else just bark woof! woof! her name is kelly i wrote something else when we were five but now shes 8 and im 7 ill be 8 in september im writing this in 2003. i love my dog. you would too if you saw how pretty and nice she is. shes so good she doesnt have a cage. and she sleeps in my room or my brothers room. she picks. but sometimes she comes on me and my brothers bed. but mostly mine! she never got her tail or ears cut off. oh and if you never knew this when some tipes of dogs are puppys they get there tail and ears cut off, if the owner wants the dog to. well thats it for now bye p.s mabey ill right another story about my dog named kelly. |

Name: Jackie O'Connor Age: 13 State: AL Date: 06/30/2003 Story: It all started one day when i was walking to school.As i was walking i heard a tap,tap,tap,tap like nails tapping up against the street. I looked back and i saw nothing and i kept walking and i heard it again tap,tap,tap,tap.So finally i stopped walking and there was a fawn boxer with cuts and bruises all over him.He wasn't wearing a collor so i took him back to my house on the way back i could see where he would hide from me.When we finally arrived at my house i took him to my house and showed him to my mom she thought he had been hit by a car so we immediately took him to the vets.Of course my mother was right he was hit my a car and he was in a great deal of pain.So we told the vet to do whatever he cold do for him and that is what he did.He suffered from a broken rib,elbow and kneecap. When all of the treatment was over a lady came over and said she had recently lost her boxer from being hit from a car also and thought it would be nice for her to adopt him.Two weeks later we handed over the dog to her and that boxer lived the last 13 years of his life with her. |

Name: Janine Category: Funny Story Age: 36 (boxers - 1yr) State: VA Date: 05/19/2003 We had the best Boxers in the world - Whites! Their names were Jack and Daisy (if you do!). They were brother and sister and as close as any siblings would be. One day they managed to jump our fence - (as the breed tends to do) and go scurrying off in search of mischief. I was frantic and sent my husband, Steven, off in search of our wayward pups. He was driving our brand new station wagon and when he turned a corner he saw our two big "GOOFS" playing in our neighbors sprinkler - skipping through it like two little kids enjoying an afternoon cool off...I have never seen anything like it! Needless to say he wasn't going to let them in the car! So he popped the hatch to the back of the station wagon...and driving slowly, yelled to Jack and Daisy to "COME HOME, NOW!" Wouldn't you know...those two followed our (new) car and Dad's voice all the way back to our home, dragging their tales behind them. They (kind of) knew it wasn't smart to play in the neighbors sprinkler and they weren't going to get a ride home! They were and are the sweetest pets.  Category: Memorial Age: 11 State: GA Date: 05/01/2003 Story: MY poor poor Zula died. She was the most awesome pet i have ever had. She was there to play when I was board. I could tell her things and she would not laugh. She was always waiting to see me when I got back from school. She was so exciting to watch. Never was a dull momment. My time spend with her was speaial. I really miss her. She was loving and comorting to me. I always bought her the new stuff at Pet Mart. I really love her. My mom and I thing she going to vist me some day like in a dream or something because the next she died i was all hot and sweaty and I could not sleep either. When I finlly fell asleep I dreamed she died. another odd thing was that the day of the night she died i knew to put her back with my brothers so that the could play and that might cheer her up,but i guess so how my brain was telling me to put her back so they could say their good byes. Sadly the next day i found Zula Dead in the cage. I felt so mad. Did i kill her some how? It my brothers kill her? It had no scars or anything.It couldn't be the age because it was only around 10 months maybe more. I can't wait to see you in heaven. Until i get there Share all your love with the kids in heaven who dont have pets, treat them like yo did me. your name will not be forgotten i proism. I have went to your grave almost every day since you died.Snowflake misses you too he is very lonly with out you,but he is doing pretty well health wise. I love you a lot i have to go i am crying so much that I can barly see the key board. I love you Zula this not a good bye but a good bye for now!!! |

Category: Happy Story Age: 12 State: Maine Date: 03/18/2003 Story: I've had boxers since i was 5 we have 2 of them and they are very, very awsome dogs there loving friendly kind and really cute animals. If you dont know what kind of dog to get then get a boxer. I'll have to tell you sometimes they're hard to find. They look sad and mean but thats just there looks but thats not true. When there pupies you have to watch out they sort of intend to chew things a little. When we got Bailey our younger boxer thats all he did but we didn't know that for sure because our older boxer Joey who was givin to us he would act a little strange when we'd say who chew this.Now they dont chew and thats a good thing. also they like getting on furniture but we have to watch out when they would start to get on we would have to say "off" or "down" they listened and now thats not a habbit anymore for them . I love them so much you have take a chance and listen to all the horrible things that have been happening to them , people have been harming them like starving them , hurting them physically and just dont care for them ,that just makes me feel really upset even hearing cruelity thats happening to other dogs as well. so all's Im saying is to treat your animals as if they were your family but they are your family so it dosent matter.well one last thing they have a show on t.v called ASPCT on the discovery channel its about animal cruelity .so thanks for listining to my story . |

Hypothyroidism, CFIDS, and a non active Adrenal tumor, and i also have Bipolar. I was out of school for 3 months and i was so sad because my friends stopped calling me and no one came to see me. So I thought i would get a puppy so he or she would cheer me up, becuase i needed some love and affection! So I looked on the internet for the perfect dog. I have 2 English Springer Spaniels and i wanted a didernt kind of breed. So I learned that Boxer's are probably the most affectate breed. So a boxer it was. We started looking in the news paper and we found some, but we didnt call right away. We went to the mall and my mom went in the pet store and say a 8 week old Brindle male boxer. I played with him and i knew he was the one even though i never planned to get one from a pet shop. So my mom asked the ladie hoe much? He turned out to be 700$. My mom would have never gotten him, but she knew it would help me and she saw how much i needed a friend. So we took him home and he just loved the car ride home. We couldnt think of a name. Sine my older brother was just leaving for The United States Millitary acadimey in West Point, New York. Witch for you that don't know, its an Army college. Anyways, We decided to call him General at first. he didnt like it! So i though and i though, and i though maybe how bout... Sargent. And he loved it. So Sarget it was. He is now 10 months old and he is the best friend i ever had. We just had him nueterd and hes doing awsome.. i'm trying to get my mom to let me get a fawn female, but she said we dont have the cash, because she had to quit her job to stay home with me... :( so i get Sarge isnt gunna fall in love for a while. So One day.........We were all cracking jokes..And One of my friends started telling this really funny joke.We all started laughing and we look over at buddy and his lip is stuck up on his teeth. And he is smiling. It was the funniest thing.....Now whenever we tell him to sit if we are going to give him a bone. Age: 13 State: al Date: 01/17/2003 Story: Hi!My name is kimber and i am thirteen and of course going through some really hard difficult times lately!Mostly because my best friend past away about 2 years ago.My boxer was bred form a friend's female.She was the runt and was not expected to survive long.She meant the world to my family and I.She was just like another sister.She was so smart she would crawl, like a baby, wine like a baby, and even talk back to my parents like a child! I have a younger brother which has had head trama and has died twice.Midge,my dog, from the first day we had her to the very last help nurture him and also helped him walk again, which to doctors would be impossible because he was paralyzed on the right side of his body.Midge was a miracle worker to us. Like most kids they all have a favorite grandparent.Well,to Midge that was my dad's dad,or to me my paw paw was her favorite grandparent!It was amazing!She loved everyone and everything! For the two GREAT years she was with us she brightened our lives!She loved to take our anual Christmas portrait with us!She looked foward to it the whole year most people would say! Yet for everything that lives it eventually dies!She started loosing wait very fast and throwing up often!we took her to the vet like any caring owner would do and was told the horifing news that there was nothing else they could do!She then was not expected to live much longer!Sometimes I think i suffered those last two weeks of her life more than she did!She was bedridden at the vet for her last two weeks I went every second possible to see her and love her for the last time!I will never forget that May when they pronounced her dead when I was not even able to tell her bye!She had died of heartworms.When we burried her on that day we also planted a rose plant on top of her grave.If you know plants or roses you know they just could NOT grow in October.Well, Midge said other wise.She was born October 8th.Every year since her death her roses bloom the most beatiful pink you will every see.And too me they even have her scent.I loved her with all my might and always will.And every May i loose my like over again.I loved her and she left me. |

We thought they would be fine. Boy was we wrong. We got home and me and my sister went to let the dogs in. I opened the door and my other dog bomer came right to me, I called for brutus but he didn't come. So i said Bomer where is Brutus, she took me right to him. e was lieing there dead under our deck. I stared to cry. I layed there with him, but I knew he wen't to a better place. I had been laying there for 10 min, my dad came out he too started to cry. Brutus was my dads dog he loved that dog with all his heart. We barried him at my grandma's house in the back. I go there when I'm at her house I put flowerson his grave. I really miss hm but I know he's looking down on use all the time. My other dog Bomer misses him to, because they would always play together. Name: Beth Age: 20 State: New Jersey Date: 01/07/2003 Story: I had always wanted a dog, but my parents never were willing to get one, as we already had a number of pets. I've been chronically ill since my early teens, and all of a sudden, my family was talking about adopting a boxer. They contacted NJ Boxer Rescue, found out about a 14 month old boxer named Maggie. They arranged to go meet her. I wasn't even able to go, I was too sick, and had to stay home in bed. You can imagine my surprise when they arrived home, and rather than telling me about the visit and getting my opinion, they had brought her home! My parents tell me they almost didn't get her, as when they first went in, she snapped at my brother's hand. But once she'd smelled everyone, she was kissing everyone all over. She had a rough start in life. She came from a puppy mill and was in a crate for the first six months of her life. She was adopted, and somehow ended up at another home. At one of those two homes, she was abused. When we got her, she had cigarette burns in her ears, whip marks on her back, and was so thin you could see every rib. Yet, because of her rough start, she was aggressive with strangers, barking and growling. We took her to two vets, both of whom told us to put her to sleep. They said she wasn't safe, she was too aggressive. Luckily for her, and for us, we didn't listen to them. Maggie has been such a special addition to our family. We were the first family to show her love, and she returned our love a hundred-fold. She's so affectionate, she loves for us to sit on the couch with her, or to sit in our laps. She will pin us down and kiss us all over. She loves to play, and is great with children, though she is still aggressive at first towards adults, particularly men with glasses. However, once she's smelled someone, and realizes they won't hurt her, she is fine, and is affectionate towards them. She loves to ride in the car, and runs to the door barking if she hears that word. She also loves ice cream, and can hear the freezer door being opened for Missing end of story... |

Name: Samantha Age: 10 months State: MA kid_stories: Submit story Date: 12/31/2002 Story: My mom is writing this for me, since I am too young, but I really wanted to tell everyone how special our Ella (2 year old gorgeous brindle female) is and how much I love her. When I came home from the hospital, Ella was there to sniff me and welcome me. I didn't like the kisses much, and Ella stopped when I protested. She is very careful around me and has never stepped on me, not once. I woke up from my nap yesterday, and when Mom told me Ella was with her dog walking gang, I yelled and yelled. I want to see my puppy! I yell when she leaves the room too. Sometimes Ella leaves when I want to pet her, and that makes me yell a bit. I am learning not to yell or pull on her if I want her to stay near me. I crawled up and over Ella's tummy just now so I could get to her bone, and Ella gave me a big huge lick. I hold her bone for her so she can chew the end better, and she holds my toys for me. Mommy watches very carefully to make sure we share nicely, but Ella is the greatest and loves our games. If I have my hand on a toy, then it is mine and she won't play with it. My first word was Ella. I yell it when she comes in the room. The first time I cruised along the couch was to see and pet Ella at the other end. I've learned how to roll out of the way of her kisses, which make me really steady at sitting. My first game was from Ella. Ella sniffs at me to make sure I am clean enough, and so I started sniffing at Mommy and Daddy the same way. It makes them really laugh. Oh, and I appreciate that Ella tells my parents when my diaper is messy, although the extra licking and sniffing does get annoying. Ella is my best friend and we all want her to live forever and ever. |

So it is a pain in the butt to get him in the tub. He is afraid of loud noise like loud music. He love to play with his soccer ball. He is always running around the house with the ball in his mouth. He loves to go on long walks. He is that big that he takes me on a walk. He loves our little dog named Bruno. He is about 9 months old now. One time I got out of bed to turn off the light, and I turned around and he was spralled out on the bed. Another time my friend's mom walked in. Ollie never seen her before. My friend's mom kneeled down to pet him. Ollie went right up to her and started to give her kisses. Ollie is almost like our other boxer, but she will never be replaced.Our other boxer Brandy passed away in the summer from cancer. We had to have a boxer in the house. My dog that my family adopted is such a sweetie!! His name is Bowser. He is the best! When we first adopted him he just met his new sister "Chloe" Chloe was never with another dog before so she didn't like him at first. My dad though one night he took Chloe and Bowser into one room and got Chloe to understand that he was gonna be there all the time, and that she needs to except that. I think it was my dad who got her to understand him. Now, you can't get Chloe and Bowse apart. My family loves him so much! We just think that he such a perfect fit for our family. One day I was sleeping and when my boxer GERTY whould dream should would kick and snoore.IT would really get on my nerves.so i went out to tell are to stop snooring sho would not stop. so i went up around her face and here she was having a seizure.I went yelling into my mom and dads and stared to scearm.They had no i did what i was yelling about so i try to culm my self down to tell them.My dad went out to stop her but she did not stop.So my mom i had to call the vet.They told my mom that they did not have to bring her in.so the next day came she was ok but she was really not she kept having more and more seixure.We could not take it anymore because she would pee everywere.so my mom took her in and the vet said she had a brien tummer.We hade to decide when we were going to put her down.THat day came the day we had to put her down was june 22 on my dads birthday.I was so heart broken i could not stops crying my dad and my cousin and mom all went down to the mall.I still have moments when i just went to break down and cry.I know that she is always looking down on me and that she is with all the other boxer. Name: Christie Category: Age: 11 1/2 State: NH Date: 08/04/2002 Story: One day i was on my way to CCD my puppy Lucy was with me and my mom. when i reached for my HW folder that had 6 weeks of HW in it i couldnt find it. i remembered that i put in thecar but i couldnt find i went bazurk. i looked at my full of energy little puppy and noticed that she had a piece of paper in her mouth. i took it out and it was a piece of my homework. she stood up and there was my shredded HW. i was soooo mad. she's a ball full of fire is what my mom says. well i went into my class and when they started to collect HW i told my teacher that th edog ate my HW. she got really mad at me becuz she thought that i was fooling around. finally after 5 times saying the dog ate my HW she beleived me. she did make me do it over though. that was the only bad thing about it! i still luv my puppy even thoough shes a ball full of fire! |

We let Bailey see a couple different dogs but she didn't pay much attention to them then Murphy came out it's surpriseing that she chose him because he is any thing but timid he's a brute but we love him to peices. They named the boxer "Balboa" after the movie "Rocky". He was a fawn color. He was the cutest thing you cold ever see. The family that had him before mine hit him with glass and plastic soda bottles when ever he did wrong. He was so scared when we got him. When we went to get him he ran right to us. He wanted nothing to do with the other family. When we took him home he had this grin on his face like he was free. He felt like my hero. In 1996, when he was 8 years old he came up with a disease called Linfoma. The veteranarian only gave him 6 months to live. Then it came to find out that he lived an extraordinary,remarkable,and outstanding 15 months. He died October 11,1997 when we had to put him down because he was suffering so bad. We couldn't take it. he died at the age of 9. Now we have our own private cematary in our back yard. That is where he is buried. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Now I hope you too can rescue a boxer like I did. |

Name: Deirdre Age: 9 State: NY My 2 year old brindle boxer's name is Tiger Lily Belle Anastasia (her coloring, her prettiness, and the last grand duchess, daughter of Czar Nicholas) and she is so cute. She looks especially ridiculous when she goes into her "duck-billed platypus" mode when she lies down and she puts her mouth on her bed and puffs it out. If I shine the light of a flashlight on the floor, she pounces on it, but if I shine it on me she doesn't because Lily doesn't want to hurt me. She always smooshes her face against the window when we are in the car, just like my old brindle boxer, Bo did. He died of a brain tumor last December. Also Lily likes to play in the snow. If you are on a sled with somoene pulling the rope, she'll run in front of you and try to bite the rope. She's a reaaly wonderful jumper and she jumps over the exact middle of moving sleds. She is a very spoiled little boxer who gets at least 3 biscuits a day, and she gets to sleep on the couch in the front room, but not the velvet one, which somehow got her slobber inside herself. When she accidentally does what she has to do inside, and someone notices, she sort of slinks away. Lily is so tiny that she fits inside herslf perfectly when she curls up. I believe that Tiger Lily is the best dog in the entire world.(3/02) |

Madison Age: 12 and 2 State: New Jersey Our story begins several months ago when we lost our family pet to death. He was a very loyal pet and very loved. And without him our home was very sad and felt very wrong. When one day mommy and daddy were surfing the internet.(Imagine that...our parents know how to use a computer), when they stumbled across the web site of Northeastern Boxer Rescue. They called me and my sister to look at the dogs with them. As the four of us sat there stareing at all the dogs that could use our help we all knew at that moment that that is what we were going to do. So every day after dinner we would all sit down and look for a dog together. But every dog that we were interested in just did not seem right for our home. But one night the phone rang and it was Laura Urban calling us to tell us that she may have found the perfect dog for us. We were so excited and so thrilled that we even drove to her house on one of the foggiest nights of the year at 9pm. just to meet the dog. Well when we got to her house and we walked in we saw the most beautiful dog walking around her guest room. And that was when we found out that his name was Ali and he needed a home. It only took less than 1 minute for daddy, mommy, my sister Madison and I to know that this was going to be the dog for us. Well that night during the car ride home Ali put his head in my lap and that is when I fell completely in love with him. And Ali has been with us ever since. It has been 3 months now and he is as much a part of our family as we are. He has filled a sadness that lingered in our house after Ajax passed away and for that he is our Angel. We finally got my two dogs. They were brothers and their names were Benz and D-(Daimler). THey were the best, and loved to give hugs and kisses. But they were not trained very well. In about a week, they got away and ran into the busy road. (It was night time too). They were both hit by the same car. My heart broke in two. Even though I only had them for 1 week, they were my first dogs, and I loved them soooo much. We bought a puppy though because we want to be able to train them. The best part about Veto was they when I was a baby he would always protect me. Sadly, we moved, and had to give Veto to a nearby farm. He died shortly after that. For my 7th birthday we got Midnight. She is a black and white boxer. I love her to death. We have practically grown up together. I never got her ears clipped so she looks like an overgrown pup. We all had to learn to be REAL patient since Gildy doesn't like to go potty in the wet grass. She thinks she owns all beds in the house (which she does) and hates the broom. She was the cutties thing you could ever see!!!!!!! When she was 3 years old she had 9 puppies. The very first one she had was the one we saved for us. The puppies went to good homes and I hope they live a long good life. My mom said Twinkle is her dog and my dad has Ringo. Ringo sleeps with me and Twinkle sleeps on the couch. Samantha and Madison Ali is our Boxer. We just adopted him a week ago. He is the funniest dog you could ever meet. When we go for car rides he likes to lay his head on Madison's lap while she is in her car seat because he likes that she has all the toys in the car. Up until we got Ali we use to think that our dad was the loudest snorer on the street...well Ali can out snore dad anytime. Ali is great. We were told that he needed to stay in a crate but he has proved everyone wrong. We are so proud of him. He is beautiful and he knows it. When we go for walks he prances and whenever he sees another dog he snubs them as if he is saying, "I am better than you", and you know what...he is. He takes turns sleeping with everyone in the house. (12/01) |
