In Memory:
Bupper Mitchell

September 1995 - February 6, 2002

Bup,

You were taken away from us way too abruptly and way too soon- we are so sorry.  We miss you terribly and think of you everyday.  We miss your wagging "nubblie" and your smiling "AWWWWW" face.  May your wonderful "Ham-Bone" and "Very Thin-Very Petite" (75lb) body be happy, healthy and waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge. Because when our time comes, we will be looking for you.  You were the best dog ever and you will always be "Our Girl".

We Love You!

Momma and Daddie

Ode to Bupper
by Donna Gombieski DeMarco

This poem is for my friends, who had a dog named Bupper
Although with her past owner, Ophelia & Sweety might have called her to supper!

She came into your life when she was only five
And by her sixth birthday party she really came alive

She had surely been a mom & I can’t say it more simply
In the words of Christene and Kevin, she had “some set of nipplies!”

I’m sure the thing she loved the most was Kevin and Christene
But here is a short summary of this family and their loving scene

Early in the morning no matter what time the alarm was set
A few moments before it went off came in this family pet!

After Kevin was long gone and Christene was in the shower
She’d leap upon the bed with all her doggie power

She would listen carefully as she lay upon the bed
And jump off quickly before Christene popped in her head

Christene would see the rumpled bed and knew what had occurred
But Bupper had a secret weapon those big eyes would be the cure

“I’ll look so sweet and innocent she’ll have to love me still
Large pools of I love you, with those looks that could kill!”

She had a collar for each season, which she wore on proud display
She even was a Court Jester for the Halloween holiday

Bupper loved to go for rides in the family car
It didn’t matter really if the distance wasn’t far

While riding in the car “It’s cold in here” Kevin would say
Christene proclaiming always that Bupper would get her way

You see this dog had some pretty big clout
And her owners believed THE SNOUT MUST BE OUT!

The freedom on her jowlies getting whipped with fresh air
Or the jowlie juice that sprayed and no one seemed to care

Arriving at the park was always quite a treat
She had the cutest walk and it really was so sweet

She would have preferred to be in the water and chase the ducks around
And there was that instance when a certain Swan she wanted to take down!

She loved going to her grandma’s every Thursday night
And did pippi in the pachysandras, as they were just the right height!

She loved to eat from a fork and lick the ice cream dish
I’m sure every dream she had was fulfilled beyond her wish

Now you’d think after all that Bupper just slid into her new name
And yet you called her the Brown Blotch and Bupper “saurus” just the same!

I’m sure that Bupper didn’t care that you always changed your mind
Instead she just enjoyed the love & those pet names were just fine

Bupper met her fate and is no longer physically here
But her incredible spirit will live on with you for years and years and years!

Christene and Kevin I know the love you had for her
And for heartbreak there is never an easy or painless cure

Except to keep remembering all those happy times
And all that Jowlie Juice with which you she did slime!
