In Memory: Clancy

This is for Clancy, who died at the age of 12 after 11 years with us.  A rescue boxer from NJ, he will never leave us. 

TRAP DOOR 

I let tears drop and break away that I never saw you on my last day and with a smile that spoke unreal face it hurts my heart to wander in your place four steps pattering with two at the side I wander a duo but solo now but I feel I carry you inside cry through one eye and watch them say 'he was getting really bad...yeah...' to put you down as if to put you away I cannot remember when you weren't there clumsy paws holding down my hair when people would leave me you'd forever remain the picture of loyalty- more than humans humane now I lay you down in a silent grave inside my fractured locked up heart because the day I let you go is the day we finally part you have become within me now without option to take you away I will not listen to them forget you two tears- not another day.
