This dog has been adopted but has not yet completed the two week "trial period" in it's new home. We are no long accepting applications or inquiries. Should the placement prove to be a poor fit for dog and/or family, he/she will be moved to the AVAILABLE section on the Available Dogs page.

• 11/16/01 - Abby is out of the hospital and doing great. She is the sweetest girl ever. She loves her boxer foster brother and loves having the 2 kids around for attention. She is a little shy of men at first but then warms right up. She did not have an easy life. She is housebroken and loves to sleep in the same room as the foster family. She doesn't make a peep. She is as good as gold. She is around 6 according to the neighbors and the vet. Abby is the best and deserves a great home for life. Please help Abby!

• 11/13/01 - Abby needs our help! Election day was the luckiest day of her life. That was the day voters went by the outdoor area where Abby had been tied out for the past few years. The family had a few kids and relegated her to the tied out post in the yard and forgot about her. The neighbors offered to buy her after she was so badly neglected with no luck. After many complaints that day the shelter went to the home to see Abby. They could not believe the shape she was in. Abby had one of the worst cases of flea infestation the shelter had ever seen. They were eating her alive. She has a condition called flea anemia. She has been treated aggressively for the fleas and is now flea free. She had what the vet calls the worst case of whip and hook worms she has ever seen in 18 yrs. of vet practice. She is also rail thin from lack of proper food and water. Through it all she has never stopped wagging her tail. She is a sweet and wonderful8 yr. old flashy fawn female. She deserves the best home to make up for her hard life.
