- Maximus Update Well Maximus has been with me for 3 days now and he is doing great. He is a lot less timid and extremely affectionate he loves to bury his head in your lap and let you scratch behind his ears. He seems to be house trained only one accident the first day, I think because he was confused. He gets along with his foster sister amazing they play just like boxers should, running, boxing, wrestling it is great to watch them. I was also surprised because his foster sister is a bossy female (in the pics with the tail ) and he has no problem with her at all. Overall Max is adjusting quickly to indoor life and like most boxers once he has had the proper attention and exercise he is extremely well adjusted. I see it already, who ever adopts this boy will be very lucky! 06/24/03 - Maximus This is Maximus. Maximus is one year and nine months old. Maximus came into rescue today, he has only had one owner but his family could no longer give him the attention he needs. Maximus lived with his boxer mom and two children. Maximus is very timid. He has not had much exposure to indoor living, as he spent most of his life in a garage. I had a difficult time getting him in my front door and up and down stairs. Now that he is in he is fine. He is a sweet boy who needs a lot of positive reassurance, he is constantly coming over to me for a pet and a rub. I watched Maximus play with his mom who is 4 years old, and although she is the only dog he has known I am quite sure he would do fine in a home with another female. Max is a big dog and he did live with children, but he only saw them in the yard. The children are used to dogs so they do not mind when he jumps up. I think because he has not had formal training yet, he should go with children 10 or older. I will update more as I get to know him better, but in summary he is gorgeous , sweet , and timid and needs a home that will keep him with them, in their home, and love him forever....
