Memorial:   Seniors -  Even though they are here for a short time, their presence is felt  forever in our hearts

This email was sent to one of our volunteers - and we felt that everyone should see how much love seniors have to give.

Pam, I'm sorry to have to tell you that we have had to have Walter (Boston) put to sleep. He had lost the use of his rear legs, and all control of his bladder and bowels. He was sleeping most of the time, and when he was awake he was not comfortable. Being as well mannered as he was, when his bladder would let go he would panic and try to get to the door. The Vet said there was a cyst or tumor on his spine, and that there was little chance of him regaining any of his functions. This was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make in my life.. I sat on the floor in the vet's office
and put him in my lap, and held him while the injection was given. It only took seconds and it felt like I was losing one of my children.

I would like to thank you and all the wonderful people at Boxer Rescue for the opportunity to have a companion like Walter. He met me at the door every day when I came home from work, and we would sit together on the floor in the living room and be goofy until my butt was asleep...... I will miss him, and hopefully when the pain goes away, I will be able to find another Boxer friend.......

Boston is a Sr. boxer in need of a great home. He was found as a stray and picked up on the side of the road and brought to a PA shelter that was so over crowded with homeless animals that he had to stay in the rabbit area. How sad is that.

He deserves better than this so we picked him up on Sat. and are going to get him to our vets on Monday to get him checked out. Please help this sweet dog. He is great with other dogs and is in a temporary foster with 3 other dogs, 2 males and a female.

He is so loving and gentle. Scranton boxerrescue
