Say hello to Homer II – Delaware Valley’s newest.  He’s a really cute brindle boy who just came into rescue, after being found as a stray.  The shelter that picked him up contacted his owners, who never came to retrieve him. Their loss is our gain.

This super-friendly guy is all boxer wiggle and bounce.  He came dancing out of his shelter run with hugs and kisses for everyone.  On the way home, he seemed anxious at first, and just stood up in the back seat – finally, he relaxed and decided I was okay and he could take a nice nap.  He is so adorable – everyone at the vet’s office loves him, and he wanted to play with all the dogs we encountered; not a curled lip or sideways glance in evidence!

He loved his bath, and was great about having his ears cleaned (yuck!).   When I finally started rinsing him, he began to sag and his eyes got droopy  – he almost fell asleep in the tub!  What a doll.

Since Homer came in as a stray we have no history on him with children – he did come in with a female who was adopted a couple of days before we picked him up, so we know he probably gets along well with other dogs.  Please contact us if yours is the perfect home for this boy – and sorry about the blurry picture – every time I called his name he ran back in my face to kiss me, so I had to take this on the fly.  If I can get him to stand still for me, I’ll update the site with new pictures.
