Sometimes you meet a dog that reminds you that forgiveness is the most amazing quality someone can offer. After 3 weeks at the vet's office to care for his wounds, Sugar Ray is now in foster care with 2 male boxers and a cat. To say that this boy will fill your heart and your home with love is an understatement! This big, goofy boy loves to bring me his toys, and if I don't want to play, he'll keep me entertained by playing alone with his toys, throwing them in the air and shaking them. Sugar is fine with his foster dog and cat brothers, and when the cat smacked him for running after him, Sugar laid down on the ground and cried - what a baby! Sugar is 100% housebroken and does not need to be crated when left at home. He prefers to sleep on his own bed next to mine and would rather lay on a soft blanket on the floor then the couch. With the horrible abuse Sugar Ray obviously had to endure, his capacity to give humans hugs and kisses and boxer wiggles is overwhelming. If you're looking to share your home with this playful, funny, loving, sweet dog, please contact us - Sugar's waiting to make your home perfect and teach you about forgiveness. 10/14/03 - Sugar Rae Sugar Rae is another case of the horrific things people inflict on animals. Sugar Rae was picked up on the streets of the Bronx by the police, the reason they noticed him was because he was hurt and bleeding. He had been stabbed multiple times, over 12 open wounds, the only good part was that they were not deep cuts and had not hit any of his organs. They transported him to our local kill shelter, who contacted us to see if we could help him. He is now at our vets office where he is getting the medical attention he needs, he is up to date on shots but will be neutered this week. And even though this poor boy was badly abused he still has the boxers great love of people, he hugs and gives kisses and wiggles. He walks great on lead, no pulling at all. Our vet thinks he is about 2 years old, Natural. ears and tail. As we have no past history on him, he will not be adopted to a home with small children. Sugar Rae will need a foster home to recover in or better yet a forever home ASAP. So please contact the group under his bio. if you have room in your house and your heart to help this sweet boy recover.
