6/10/04 Piper did not do well in her adoptive home. She was returned to rescue. Piper is currently in foster care with 2 male boxers and a cat and she's wonderful. She is completely housebroken, never needs to be crated, is left alone throughout the workday, and knows some basic commands - sit, stay, ok, cross, wait and come. Piper loves to go for car rides and loves to take walks. We use a harness when walking Piper and there is no pulling at all. Piper has a very strong prey drive (this translates to - there is not a squirrel safe within smelling distance) and therefore Piper's new home must have at least a 5' fence. She not only chases the squirrels up the tree, but she tries to climb up after it. Piper is fast - really fast and when she runs, she's not shy about performing the typical boxer body slam. I swear she was smiling after she sent one of my dogs sprawling…. Piper is an incredibly easy dog to live with - she appears to be happy almost all of the time and has very sweet spirit. However, Piper does get shy and nervous when meeting strangers so we'd love to adopt her into a calm household. Piper is very smart and loves learning - actually, she just loves being with her people and will do whatever you ask her to do just for the sheer joy of spending time with you. 2/29/04 -Piper
Piper is way too cute. She was surrendered to a PA shelter by her owners. We
were never told why. Today this little girl made her way to NY and into a
foster home. As soon as they take some pictures we will post them. She is
about 40 pounds, has natural ears, and a docked tail. She was warm and
friendly to everyone she met on the way to NY. We will update as soon as the
foster home gets to know her. |
