Griffin is a lucky boy. Our orthopedic surgeon looked at his x-rays and because so much callous has formed and his leg is stable he feels Griffin should not have surgery. Because the leg was not treated properly the 2 pieces of bone is his leg overlap each other. Griffin's leg will be a touch shorter than his other front leg. At this point he is putting his weight on his leg and the swelling is starting to go down. Griffin was neutered yesterday and IS READY FOR HIS FOREVER HOME.

Did I tell you how sweet and friendly this little boy is?

4/24/04 - Griffin

Griffin was picked up on the side of the road. Apparently he was hit by a car. Griffin had fractured his left front leg. Poor Griffin spent the next month in a shelter without proper treatment. We finally got him out and into rescue.

As soon as Griffin arrived today I immediately removed the ill fitting urine soaked splint he was trying to chew off. The reason he was chewing at the splint was it had cut a silver dollar sized whole in his skin. Griffin's leg is swollen and he is somewhat lame. Callous has developed around the fracture. We will x-ray the leg Monday morning and Griffin will see our friend the Orthopedic specialist. We will have his leg repaired properly and hope he will not have any ill effects from not getting the correct medical attention at the beginning.

It was hard to get Griffin to hold still for his pictures. After his splint and Elizabethan collar had been removed he just want to lick his leg wound and not pose for the camera.

Griffin is an extremely handsome one year old Boxer.

Taking an easy dog from someone who has to move and rehoming him is not a huge challenge. The challenge is transporting and caring for dogs like Griffin. The challenge is finding the funds to help the dogs in need of medical care.

Thatıs where YOU come in. We need donations to cover the medical bills for these dogs. Remember we get no public or private funding. We rely on adoption fees and your donations to cover our expenses.

All the money goes to the dogs.
