Tonic has been with us now for almost two weeks. The first couple of days here she was very quiet and slept most of the time, probably due to spending months in a noisy shelter. She has now adapted to her new environment and it shows! She has gained back some of her weight and her coat is starting to shine.
She plays nice and even chases our very active, three year old, neutered male boxer.
Tonic is perfectly house-broken and will sleep through the whole night. She has been left alone, uncrated for four hours and did fine. In fact, she was still sitting at the front glass door where she was when I left her!
We don't have children, so I am uncertain how she'd be with little ones, but she has met a few of our adult friends. She'll stand back for a few seconds then she'll greet them with a wagging tail. I think she just likes to check people out first.
Tonic is extremely pleasant and well-behaved, she'll come when called and is a very easy-going dog. She doesn't play rough in the house, doesn't bark unless someone comes to the door and doesn't jump up on people.
All in all, she's a great dog and a delight to spend time with.

Tonic is super with everyone. After her 2 month stay in a shelter she is in need a of great home. She is so sweet and great with other dogs. Our volunteer could not bear to think of her in a kennel after hearing Gin had been adopted.  Pam had to take her home. She is doing great with Pam's male and female boxers. Won't you open your home to this sweet girl?

4/16/04 - Tonic

Gin and Tonic are a pair of female boxers. They are coming to us from an NY shelter. They are both in need of a foster home. They have been together for life but we are willing to separate them in order to get them each into a home. They have been in a shelter for months. They are sweet and loving and would do best in a home with kids over 13.
