- Kirra
Kirra and her 'husband' Toto
were surrendered from the only home they ever knew - their humans had
another baby. After breeding these 2 wonderful dogs twice there was no more
room for them so off to rescue they went.
Because we have so few foster homes open now, both were placed in a safe
kennel. But we had to get Kirra out quickly - she was so overcome with
stress that we were literally afraid for her life. So unfortunately, we had
to separate them while they await their forever home. Kirra is now in a
foster home with 2 male boxers and a cat and she's doing fine with everyone.
She's very confused and she misses Toto so
much that she is finding it very difficult to settle down. She wants
nothing more then to be with me, giving kisses, begging for love, and trying
so hard to understand what terrible thing she might have done to force her
to be surrounded by strangers. And nothing I can say to her will let her
understand that her circumstance is not her fault.
Let me tell you a little bit about this sweet girl. Kirra is all love - she
is completely trained, does not need a crate (she was left uncrated for 7
hours yesterday and touched nothing in the house). She is very gentle on
lead. She knows sit, come, wait and down. Kirra's original home was with a
child so we will place her with older children. Kirra wants nothing more
then your approval and once she gets that, her entire face just lights up.
She is very playful and would make a great walking/jogging partner. What
Kirra needs most right now is a home that can understand the loss that Kirra
is feeling - her confusion, her sorrow and her need for reassurance that her
life will be good. And if it is at all possible, we sure would like to
reunite Kirra and Toto forever. Having these 2 join your family would be
amazing - you'd be getting 2 dogs that truly love each other and have an
unlimited amount of love for humans. And of course, they will be spayed and
neutered prior to adoption.
If you're reading this, if you've come to our site with the hope of adopting
a loving, trained, wonderful addition to your family, Kirra would be perfect
for you. And if you love the old movies where the lovers are reunited, the
birds sing, the waves hit the beach and the young couple walk off into the
sunset, if you've been on the fence about adopting more then one dog, if
you've heard that boxers are like potato chips - you can't just have one -
then you need to meet this pair of sweethearts.
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an
online application first. Then e-mail the contacts below. Be sure to include your full name, city,
state, and area code in the subject line of your message.
