Would someone please give me my FOREVER home?  My owners dumped me off at a shelter a couple of months ago so they could go get a "puppy".  Now I'm left out here to find a home that will love me for the rest of my life.  Maybe they got rid of me because I am no longer a puppy.  I don't know, I think that's what's good about me!  I did my best to be a good girl.  I'm in a good foster home but I need to find my forever home once and for all.  My foster Mom has four of us and it is hard to get all the attention I want.  Would you please be that special human to take me home and love me?

I'm excellent in the house.  My foster Mom says that I'm a real lady. I know I've been tossed out like the weekly trash but I am not! Please give me the chance to show you.  My foster Mom always tells me she won't let me go unless it's to the best forever home but everyday comes and goes and I am still waiting.  I would be perfect in a home with no other dogs or cats because I want ALL the attention.  I may accept a submissive male but no one has even given me that chance.  I will protect my new home and be well behaved.  We have a barn cat here at my foster home and I will chase him if he runs but other than that I don't do anything to him.   Would you please fill out an application and tell NBR that you will give me the best forever home I deserve? Please?  See, I have good manners too, I said "please"!

7/25/04  - Update and new pics

Lucy is such a gem, she loves to sit on the pool steps and cool off after a romp in the field. As you can see, she has settled in nicely.

She is looking for a special human to give her all the TLC she can absorb.  She is a true sweetie who never deserves to have her heart broken again. None of them do for that matter.  If you are a committed forever home Lucy will be YOUR committed forever friend.

Lucy is doing very well and settling into her routine.  She loves to go on long walks with her foster sisters.  Lucy would do best in a loving home with no other dogs and no cats.  She would thrive with a strong Boxer savvy owner.  She is strong on the leash and loves her fenced in play yard the best.  After play time she loves to splash in her baby pool to cool off.  She is an exceptional "Lady" in the house, perfectly well behaved.  Never an accident of any kind because she is perfectly well behaved in the house!  Lucy is extremely obedient, intelligent and listens ever so well.  New pics of this sweet Lady will be posted soon.  She is ready to find her FOREVER home.

Lucy is doing so well!  She has relaxed and has gotten used to her routine.  Lucy is so sweet and gentle.  She takes a treat ever so softly making sure not to even touch your fingers.  She loves to run and play in the field.  I throw a handful of dog food and she finds it and is so happy with her cute self when she has gotten it all.  She is very good at entertaining herself.  She loves a Kong toy filled with peanut butter.  She makes sure she gets every last bit out of the toy.  I have never seen a dog so clean and neat eating peanut butter.   Lucy is a perfect lady in the house and listens very well.   She loves her ears touched ever so gently.  Actually, she loves any and all attention.   Lucy had a bubble bath the other day and loved it!  As usual she was perfectly well behaved.  She also loves to play in her pool on the hot days splashing about to entertain herself.  Lucy is beautiful inside and out!  What a gem!  She is looking for that FOREVER home with loving humans!

Lucy has been through so much is such a short amount of time. Given up by the only home she has ever known, taken to a shelter then rescued by NBR and now in a foster home. Needless to say she is totally stressed out. Lucy has gotten along fine with other dogs in her past. In time, as she calms down and relaxes I will introduce her to my girls. Right now she is too stressed. Lucy probably would be happy with a quiet submissive male dog.

Lucy was a perfect angel in the car to her foster home.  When she first came up to me she licked my hand ever so gently and looked up at me with those big brown eyes as if to say "please find me a forever home".  "I will do my best" I said silently to her.  Lucy slept for the 2 hour ride only getting up a couple of times to look out the back window.  I thought,   "don't look back Sweetheart, there are better times ahead for you".   Once home she enjoyed the dog pool in the yard.   She splashed and played until she was so tired.  She ate a little dinner and with a full belly she curled up on the blanket and slept again.  Lucy deserves a loving home forever.  Will you be that special home for her?  She would do best in a home with adults and where she is the only dog.  She needs tons of TLC and she will give more than you can imagine back to you.

Lucy's owner's took her to a high kill shelter because they are buying a new puppy. We are now looking for a foster home or a permanent home for this sweet girl. Poor Lucy will have to stay at our kennel until we can move her to a home. Can it be yours??

/04 - Lucy

Lucy is a 4yr old spayed flashy fawn female boxer girl. She is housebroken and great with everyone but wee kids. A home with kids over 8 would be great.
