10/12/04 - Hearing Results

The trial for Trinidad did not go well. The Asst. DA allowed the defense to have the charges thrown out due to 2 facts. One, the admission of guilt to the police was not allowed because it was the only evidence due to the fact the ADA would not put the son on trial. He was the only other witness to the crime. The ADA would not let Trinidad's supporters speak in his defense. The ADA threatened to throw me out of court if I said a word. This is a shame. I called her boss the DA of Schuykill CTY,PA and complained about her conduct but I am sure nothing will happen.

The ADA was a better tool for the defense. It's a shame the way the law works? The policeman had nothing else to go on, he could not find the body. Its a shame. A very sad day for animals in PA.

The judge had no choice but to dismiss the charges.

This is so sad...

Trinidad was a dog that we couldn't get into foster fast enough. The grandkids that took him in were working with us as usual. We had a volunteer in the area evaluate him and she said he was a good boy. Our volunteer took PICS and we were working to get him into a home he deserved after the home he lived in for his 7yrs passed away without leaving him with any caretaker.

The grandkids home was busy and had 2 dogs and a cat and didn't want him. They tried dumping him at a PA shelter but they were full. Last Thursday my beloved dog Jake a 9yr old boxer that was my pride and joy and love of our families lives died after a battle with cancer. He was the first dog I ever took out of a shelter. As my 2 boys were in bed with my husband and I crying over our loss my phone rang at 10:50. My volunteer called and said the home with Trinidad took him to a neighbors house and shot him to death because he had problems with their cat. We called and begged them to give him to us that we would get him and take him anywhere. Prior to this every kennel and vets hospital we know of was full. Our fosters are all full or on vacation and we had nowhere to put him. This is the most horrible ending a dog could have. He did not deserve this. Please consider fostering. We are devastated over this. I cannot even grieve over my own dog, I don't have time. We are struggling to get these dogs out quick enough. Please help us.

7/08/04 -Trinidad

Trinidad is a 7yr old cropped and docked fawn male boxer. His 89yr old owner with whom he lived with his whole life died and left him with no one to care for him. A grandchild took him in. He is in their home with a male and female boxer. He will be vetted and up to date on shots and neutered. He is very sweet. Please consider helping this guy. When our volunteer went to take these pictures of him he was looking at the door for his owner to walk back in. Its so sad. Can you imagine how he feels. He is in need of a foster home because the grandkids can't have another dog for very long. Please help.
