This sweet girl was found wandering loose by a wonderful person who took her in, cleaned her up and cared for her. Weeks of searching for her owner brought no results, and Ida Rose is now looking for a new permanent home with a family who will love her. She's a cutie, with natural ears, docked tail, and a big underbite (her lower teeth show when her mouth is closed).

Ida Rose is up to date on shots, spayed, and taking meds to clear up a urinary tract infection she must have picked up while outside. She does not seem used to other dogs, and was probably the only pet in the house she lived in. We're working on her leash-walking; on a regular collar, she pulls and pulls, but I switched her over to a harness, and she walked much better, with only an occasional tug when she saw children playing and wanted to go to them. Although Ida Rose appears to like children, we won't be placing her in a home with young ones, since she was picked up as a stray.

While staying with her foster mom, she showed a preference for sleeping in bed. She follows you everywhere, and will sit and give paw. We'll post more updates as we learn more about Ida Rose and her personality. Sadly, her foster mom was not able to keep her, as she has a dominant female at home who is not enthusiastic about welcoming a new family member.
