"Belle"

This dog has been adopted but has not yet completed the two week "trial period" in it's new home. We are no long accepting applications or inquiries. Should the placement prove to be a poor fit for dog and/or family, he/she will be moved to the AVAILABLE section on the Available Dogs page.

• 9/08/01 - Belle is a beautiful 3 yr old fawn Boxer girl who is as sweet as she is pretty. She was surrendered to rescue because her family was moving and could not take care of her. When we received the call to help, Belle needed treatment for an injury to her leg that was inflicted by someone while she was tied up alone outside. Someone twisted a cable around Belle's right front leg above her elbow and it cut off her circulation. Although her entire leg had swelled to an enormous size, she did not lose the leg because she was found in the nick of time. However it took  two days before her leg returned to normal size. She did suffer a deep gash where the cable cut into her flesh, but the damage is merely cosmetic. Belle was definitely lucky.

  Belle started out life as a happy puppy who was surrendered (along with her brother) to a Shelter when she was 4 months old because of a housing problem. Sadly she was adopted from the Shelter without being spayed and as far as we know she had at least one litter. Belle is currently coming out of heat so we have to wait for the go ahead from the vet before she can be spayed. Belle lived with a cat and young children and appears to be good with other dogs.

  Belle is an awesome dog that impresses everyone she meets with her charm, sweet personality, and good looks.
