Adopted 6/15/02 6/10/02 - Buster was found ownerless and collarless roaming in a many-hundred acre reserve in NJ. Ironically, this is a place where many people bring their dogs to romp and have fun. Buster was not having fun though; he was wandering aimlessly into the lonely forest. Some very nice people found him, and brought him to the local shelter, but the shelter was closed. They were unable to bring him home with them, so they brought Buster around to the back of the building and tied him there knowing it would not be long before a shelter worker was due to come in for the next day. Well, Buster's story is sad, but not that sad. He appears to be in great condition, was not out on his own for very long (due to his perfect physical), and does not seem stressed in the shelter. He gets many walks a day from volunteers popping in and lots of play time with the people working there. He has been fine with the other dogs he has met. He was a very well behaved boy at the vets, and he is even housebroken! He doesn't go in his kennel. I tried to see if he would respond to any commands, but he was way too excited to focus. As you can see, Buster has a tail, and it is always up (always happy). His age is estimated at 2 years old. Buster will need to get neutered and have a small growth on his front thigh removed. The vet said the growth is nothing to worry about heath wise, but we will have it taken off while he is having his neuter surgery. Please note that Buster was found stray, so he can not be placed in a home with small children. What a cutie pie.
