"
Charlie"
This dog has been adopted but has not yet completed the two week "trial period" in it's new home. Should the placement prove to be a poor fit for dog and/or family, he/she will be moved to the AVAILABLE section on the Available Dogs page.
I think the ideal home for Charlie would be with someone who is retired, doesn't work, works from home, or someone who is self-employed, who would bring him to work. I've been bringing Charlie to the office every day, where he naps on a chair, and gets up to greet each person as they come in. He's very well adjusted in an office environment and loves the attention he gets from all the employees.
Charlie loves to go for rides in the car, and I take him everywhere with me. He's happy to wait in the car while I run into the store for short hops, and yesterday we went to the inspection station together (and passed)! If you want a truly marvelous dog, who is not large (about 50 lbs) and is very well behaved, except for a little counter-surfing, please consider Charlie. His food is not cheap (about $45 a large bag); he's not a dog for someone on a limited income, and currently takes a supplement before each meal, which is an antibiotic powder which also helps to control the colitis.
Please contact me if you are interested in adopting this terrific guy - he's the best! When writing, be sure to include your Name, City/State and Charlie's name in the subject line of your message.
This is a condition he will have throughout his life, and he will need to be on special food to help keep it in check. A quiet, stable environment without a lot of changes will also be a necessity, as flare-ups are apt to occur with any change in routine.
Charlie is 15 months old, cropped and docked, and knows how to sit and give paw. He’s an absolute dear, and walks well on a leash. He’s very affectionate, and I think would be the perfect companion for someone who works at home or is retired.

As a puppy, Charlie has had a few bouts of colitis. This is a condition which causes diarrhea and could re-occur. If it does, he may need to take some medication, which is not expensive (est. about $3.00 per week). He is currently on a low-residue diet, without medication, but is NOT a dog you can feed all sorts of table scraps and snacks. Table-feeders need not apply (you know who you are!) as he'll need to have his diet monitored to keep this in check. Last night his stool was a little loose, but in no way a problem, and since he'd just had a long car ride in traffic, I'm not worried about this.
