"China"
This dog has been adopted but has not yet completed the two week "trial period" in it's new home. Should the placement prove to be a poor fit for dog and/or family, he/she will be moved to the AVAILABLE section on the Available Dogs page.
10/28/01 - China looks so cute she is hard to resist- so we have heard this from many of you inquiring about her. She is not the right dog for just anyone. She needs someone willing to put energy into her. She will do best in a home with a fenced yard, for she is VERY hard to walk, she thinks the leash is a chew toy. Her foster home has been using a "gentle leader", which has improved this situation a lot. She is catching onto the potty training more and more each day. She has been going to the dog run daily in an attempt to socialize her with other dogs. She has improved much on this front, she realizes that a dog approaching to play is NOT approaching to fight. We feel she may even be younger than previously estimated. Her foster home feels she is closer to 7 or 8 months old. This puppy has had a tough life as it is reflected in her lack of life knowledge. She is coming around quickly, just waiting for you to continue with training, caring and loving with her.
10/14/01 - China is still in her foster home with 2 male boxers and a cat. She is doing ok with all the animals, but we feel she should probably be an only dog. Although she is approximately 10 months old, her behavior reflects that of a 3 month old puppy. She must have been left to fend for herself without any human direction. She was picked up as a stray and we don't know where she was before that. She is catching on to potty training, is good in the house alone- crated or uncrated and loves to sleep under the covers. She is very loving and needs a home where someone will give her the time and affection she needs. Obedience training and lots of TLC is a must. She is so sweet and is just waiting for the right situation where she can blossom into her full potential.
10/03/01 - China is a young hearing white boxer. She was found on the street and we think she is around 11 months old. She has been spayed and brought up to date on her vaccines. Because we have no history we will not place her with very young children. She is high spirited, sweet, and extremely playful.
