Daisy is a young boxer mix, who appears to be a year old or
less. She's around 30-35 lbs. and still a bit shy. Daisy was picked up from
the shelter by another rescue group, and placed with a family they believed would take excellent care of her. Sadly, her owners turned her over to
the care of their two young daughters, who also didn't know how to handle a dog,
and in the process of feeding Daisy, one of the girls was nipped. When first returned, Daisy appeared to have received some pretty rough
treatment, and was terrified of everyone and everything. Within a couple of days,
she began to show her sweet disposition once again, and was very willing when I
walked her. Daisy's origins are unknown, and it's possible she's been mistreated by children. She also seems to have some apprehension about
food being taken away from her, and will need to work on that. Daisy was a little camera-shy for our photo session, but you can see how cute she
is. She has a somewhat asymmetrical face, which the vet said she was probably
born with, and this gives her an intriguing appearance.
Daisy's quarantine period will be up this Friday, March 31st and will be
available for adoption at Animal Rescue Force's Route 18 Flea Market in East
Brunswick on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. If you'd like directions, please feel free to call their office at 732/257-7559 or
