Follow Up: Nick

Thank you so much for rescuing Nick! We know he was bounced around from home to kennel and home to kennel before we adopted him, but we can't figure out why anyone would give up such a wonderful dog. From the first day we brought him home (thanks Dawn and Gail!) he's acted like he belonged here and put the princess Inga in her place. It took him a few weeks to get over the fear of being abandoned again, and we got the feeling that he was abused or at least yelled at quite a bit because he would cower and flinch whenever we raised our voices at the dogs. Eventually though he realized this is his home and he started to do the kidney bean dance more and more often.

All our visitors comment on how well-behaved he is (which makes Inga look even more like the spaz that she is) and he obviously was trained very well in his previous home(s). He's a terrific watchdog and especially stands guard wherever his mom goes, whether it is in the basement, the bathroom, on the computer or wherever. He's definitely a mama's boy.

He seems to love his sister too, and we are pretty sure she loves him back even though he play-bites her back legs and steals and un-stuffs all her toys. Most nights they curl up and give kisses before going to bed. I think we're all one big happy family, although there's not enough room on the couch for both mom and dad now! Here's some pictures of Nick and Inga.
