Follow Up: Dale We feel very lucky to have adopted Dale. He has charmed his way right into our family and acted like he has lived here since day one. Our 2 year old female boxer has really warmed up to him without any major altercations. They are now best of friends and getting plenty of quality boxer play time. Dale's wrestling skills have improved a lot. He has learned a lot of tricks from Nicki and now uses them against her. He has quite an advantage, because of his size. He is about 15 pounds heavier and still growing. Nicki lets him know every now and then who the Boss is and Dale will listen to her. We take Dale and Nicki for a walk a few times a week. We put a harness on Dale because he still would like to chase every leave he sees blowing across the ground. He is getting a lot better on the lead he is learning to sit whenever we stop, sometimes we don't even have to tell him. We nick named him Clifford because he seems to get bigger every day. Dale is filling out nicely as he has slimmed down and is putting on some serious muscle. Dale is also learning to retrieve the ball. He loves to play ball but doesn't like to give it up. Nicki helps us train him by showing him what she does. Our daughters love him as he has become a pretty good pillow for them when they are laying on the couch. Sometimes Dale uses us as a pillow, if we happen to be on what he thinks is his couch. Dale is a normal loving boxer that wants to be wherever you are, and follows us around until we sit down to relax. We are all very happy with Dale, and feel very fortunate to have him. I think he feels the same with all of us. We would like to thank everyone from the boxer rescue, especially Dawn, Pam, and Jamie who We had the pleasure to meet and work with while we found the right Dog for our family. (Dale had to be able to live with our cat silver.) It is incredible the time, work, and all out effort you people put in to find these dogs a good home. You are doing a great thing for these dogs. Thank You. From Dales happy new home. |
