Follow Up: Harvey’s Story - March 2003 Hi! My name is Harvey. or at least that’s what my new family calls me. In Jan. 2003 I was found wandering in the woods in eastern PA (skinny and cold), taken in by Boxer Rescue, and then hurried off to my new home in Williamsport, PA - all within a week! My picture never made it to the website so no one ever saw what a beautiful dog I am! I know I’m a lucky dog because I’m rarely alone. My new dad, Larry, takes me to work with him every day. He owns a sweeper sales and repair shop, and I’m in charge of Customer Relations, greeting all the customers. At home, I have lots of jobs: besides Chief Ball Catcher, I’m also Head Dog Watcher - I run from one window to another, watching all the lucky dogs who get to go for a walk past our house. How I wish I could go out and play with them! Sometimes I get to visit my girlfriend, a German Shepherd who lives in a house with a huge fenced-in yard. She also has lots of energy and we have fun playing and running in the big yard. I’m also Chief Chocolate Taster: one day I snitched some Oreos and another day I found some Brownies when no one was home. My mom and dad were afraid I’d be sick but I was fine. I think they hid all the chocolate, though, because I haven’t found any more! My new mom, Ann, has talked about taking me to obedience class, not because I’m bad, but because she’s a new dog owner and wants to learn how to work with me. She knows I’m intelligent and eager to please, and she wants me to have good manners and be a good doggie citizen. I’m ready - sign me up! In the evening I like to climb into my daddy’s lap when he sleeps in his recliner - I just love to snuggle! My daddy says he has had many Boxers in his past, but never a 65 pound lap dog like me. He says I’m the most cuddly Boxer ever! I want to thank all the wonderful people at Rescue for taking care of me and finding me such a good home! Love and kisses, Harvey
