Happy Beginnings and Follow up: Mya Bear

Rescue Date: 4/22/03
Name: Mya
Names of Owners: Kelly and Justin

09/19/03 - Well, I don't even know where to begin. Mya is my best friend. She is the funniest dog I've ever known. She has so much character. Mya will howl when she doesn't get her way or feels that she needs to be paid attention to. She wags her tail as she howls because she knows we think it's funny. So cute. In fact, as I sit here and type she is howling away, because she wants to go out and play. Her expressions are priceless. I now have a sign above my kitchen door that reads, "Simple Pleasures -The high point of my day is when I get home to be with my dog."

Mya loves to play with her friends, Scout and Sergeant at the Parkway. They have a blast wrestling and swimming for hours on end. "Cosmo", my parents boxer dog, is her best friend. They see each other almost daily and she is keeping him young with her lively spirit. They love to play fight for everyone's entertainment.

Mya is our baby. She was the "most improved" dog in her obedience class this summer and this fall she hopes to move onto Agility training. She will be in our Christmas card this year, I'll pass it along in December. Thanks NBR for all you do for our favorite friends.

Sincerely,
Mya aka "Bear", Kelly and Justin

07/03 -

Hello,
I thought I would send some pictures of our Mya Bear. We adopted her April 22, 2003 and she is the best friend I could ask for. Don't get me wrong, she is a little troublemaker, but we love her just the same. Sometimes, she will just casually walk by carrying one of our shoes and then when she sees me look at her she takes off! She is a real character. She looks like a human sitting there in some of these pictures.

I can't thank Laurie Lessig of King of Prussia Boxer Rescue enough for all of her help and advice along the way. Dawn Karam has been a constant support of ours since we adopted Mya as well.

Mya has recently discovered she loves to dig holes and get her face and tongue totally black. She howls like a hound when she doesn't get her way and even joined in singing me happy birthday recently. She loves our parents boxer Cosmo, they go swimming up at the lake in the Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania. Mya is a better swimmer than Cosmo. She also has a group of friends she plays with at the Parkway, they run and jump for hours before I have to lift her in the car from exhaustion so she can fall asleep on the way home.

Thanks NBR for all of your time and for helping our wonderful friends. They truly are angels.

Sincerely, Kelly, Justin and Mya
