Memorial: Mousse

Dear NBR,

Mousse was a young white two year old boxer female. She taught us much about unconditional love, perseverance, and patience. During her stay with us, I like to think that she was a spoiled and loved puppy. She went to doggie day care, many walks, to a canine swim center, and had many loving friends. Mousse loved to roll in the autumn leaves and frolic in the few snowfalls she saw. She feasted on all natural dog food and treats, had many comfy beds and fleece blankets, her own set of running shoes, and her own seatbelt for many car rides. She dressed up for Halloween and gave out doggie treats to fellow canine friends.

Mousse was also a Pets on Wheels dog and made the elderly and staff at the nursing home smile. She traveled often to Pennsylvania to visit Grandma and even made it to Massachusetts, Chincoteague to play in the ocean near the wild horses, and to New York State where she crossed the Lake Champlain Ferry. This past summer she also enjoyed a row boat ride at a family member's house and running in the woods for the first time. Mousse donated doggie blood through the Eastern Veterinary Blood Bank in order to help other canines. She even went to DC for her first birthday to have doggie ice cream and snickerpoodles at Sweet licks, a dog friendly restaurant. Mousse has also seen the famous cherry blossom festival in DC. She had her best friend, Seamus to play with, personal trainers, acupuncture, and T-touch therapy to help her.

Most importantly, she had her Mommy and her Daddy to love her. She loved her Halloween witch toy and snoozing in the sun. We are blessed with many joyful memories of her, including my favorites of her wearing her doggles and having acupuncture. This was our tribute to her.

Dearest Friend of Time & Soul,
My Mousse-kins, My Pudgy Puppy,
You are Loved.
On the twenty second of November, 2002,
We celebrated the life of Mousse
Her soul soared triumphantly over her cancer
She is romping over Rainbow Bridge, all boxer wiggles & kisses
We ask you to rejoice in the sheer joy she brought to us & in the love we gave to her
She left paw prints on my heart.

Happy Buttoning and Boxer puppy kisses
Kelly
