This dog has been adopted.
7/20/01 - Joe is our first foster boxer and has set a precedence that I don't think can be matched. Joe came into our family on Fri., July 13, 2001 from a shelter in WV. Joe is up to date with all of his shots, is taking heartworm
preventative, and from discussions with my Vet, Joe is between 3 and 4 years old. He is a fawn with a black mask, white along his chest and stomach and has white on the tips of his feet. He currently weighs about 65 lbs., but he can put on a few more since he is a little thin. We are currently battling a head cold and cough that he contracted from the shelter and Joe will be neutered on the 23rd of July.
When Joe first came into our home he was a little shy, and protective of his
bones. But after a day or two he warmed up nicely to his surroundings,
including our 2-year old white female boxer and our 5-month old male brindle Boxer. Now his favorite thing to do is play tug-o-war with the other two boxers. Joe has very good manners; he is quiet and content just sitting at your feet or on your lap. But, when it is time to play, he is very playful
and gentle at the same time. He is very affectionate and would be a
wonderful addition to any household, with or without other animals or
children. He sits nicely for his food, treats and medicine, walks very well
on a leash (usually close by your side) and loves to be around people at all
times. He does show signs of separation anxiety, he just wants to have human contact as much as he possibly can. We are currently working on his crate training, he is somewhat hesitant about his crate so far.
7/17/01 - We have just picked up Joe, a two year old boxer male, form a humane society in WV. He is living with a 2yr old female and a male puppy and getting along famously from what the foster family has to say. Joe will be neutered on the 23rd and soon after will available for adoption. He is a real lover and is just yearning for a family he can count on. He is great with kids, but we would prefer older children as Joe is a baby too. We'll get more information from the foster family and include it ASAP!
Please complete an Adoption Application if you want to have Joe join your family permanently.
