"Johnnie"
This dog has been adopted but has not yet completed the two week "trial period" in it's new home. Should the placement prove to be a poor fit for dog and/or family, he/she will be moved to the AVAILABLE section on the Available Dogs page.
10/08/01 - This handsome 1-2 year old neutered white boxer boy is very sweet. He arrived at his foster home in NYC on Saturday and has been an absolute angel. here is what his foster home has to say.
He's eating and sleeping well. Zoe, my boxer puppy and he are enjoying each other. Zoe being the playful puppy she is likes jumping on Johnnie. He doesn't mind and let's her do her thing. He does very well on our walks. He doesn't pull or have any aggressive behavior with other people or dogs. We went to the dog run on Sunday. He was playful and also very friendly with the other dogs and people. He is eating well and I'm giving him his antibiotics twice a day. His swelling seems to be subsiding. The first night he slept in his crate and whimpered a little. Last night we had him sleep in our bedroom near our bed on the floor. Zoe and he didn't seem to mind each other's company. Later in the morning after Zoe gets in bed with us, Johnnie went in Zoe's bed. Zoe didn't mind and he liked it. I can't imagine why someone would give him up. He is very well behaved and very loving. Even though he doesn't know certain commands, such as sit; he does come when you call him and stays when you need him to. He's not a barker or jumper. He loves to get lots of attention and love and gives back lots of love. He enjoys being by you and laying his head on your lap. If you let him, I'm sure he's a big lap dog. Overall he has a very wonderful and loving temperament. He was a little afraid of going and coming into the elevator at first. Since this is the method we have to use to let him be able to go outside. I just don't think he has ever been in a elevator. He's not a city dog. He is getting use to it. I gave him a bath when he first came to our home. He was a bit afraid of having to go in the tub. But he was good with letting me bathe him after I got him in the tub. He didn't seem to mind after all. We are having a great time with Johnnie. I think he's getting comfortable and secure with his foster home. We are very happy we can help him out.
