8/13/01 - Justice the Wonder Dog Up date: Hi everybody! Just wanted to show you all what I've been up to while waiting for one of you good people to adopt me. My foster mom and dad, and their good friend, Linda decided to take me canoeing. Here we all are at Peachem Pond in Peachem, Vermont, about 15 minutes from where my foster folks live. Linda, aside from being a good friend and excellent canoe tour guide, is also a dive master who teaches and scuba dives frequently. I wanted to join her in that pursuit but the rubber fins kept falling off my feet. Ah, yes, down to business.., here we are preparing to launch the canoe. You will notice that we all have life preservers, especially yours truly, that's because, even though this little boxer doggie loves the water, anything over my chest and I sink like the proverbial furry rock! You will notice that I pitched right in, helping to pull the canoe out into the deeper water. And we're off! It is just so very beautiful here! Everywhere I looked there were families sitting out at their camps along the water, playing ball, laughing. It actually made me kind of sad though, cause even though I have fun with Linda and my foster folks, all I really really want is a family to call my very own. A little dip after our trip. "Excuse me.., you.., gentlemen in the boat.., Sirs!! A'hem, pardon me sirs, but would you like to adopt a little furry boxer dog like me? I enjoy fishing!." This last picture is of Linda laughing at me after I showed her that I can blow bubbles through my nose under water. It's a skill that I
developed while searching for rocks. I have a whole collection of rocks that I've found while wading in the Great Brook and Winooski River that boarders my foster folks' backyard. Well, gotta go. Hope to hear from you soon! Love and boxer kisses, Your every hopeful boxer bud, Justice, the Wonder Dog.
5/19/01: Hi everybody! Justice the Wonder Dog here! Just dropping a line to share some new pictures of me and my foster dad splashing and hiking in the woodlands. I don't know about the rest of them, but this is one boxer baby who L-O-V-E-S the water! And rock climbing..? ..., bring it on!
Now I know, in the past I haven't gotten along with other dogs, but I am
trying. It's just that dominance thing, you know. But just the other day a strange dog wondered by, did the usual sniff, you know, and then he left!
If truth be known he actually left before I had a chance to let him know who the big dog really was, but just the same it was, after all an uneventful exchange, and boy did my foster mom give me lots of praise. She's been
using the clicker training with me and boy after that uneventful dog/dog meeting she was just click, click, clicking away like a crazy woman! Gave me lots of treats too. Ummmm maybe there's something to this socializing stuff. Anyway, I'm, still here waiting for my new family, so common folks! Geeze what does a dog have ta do to be noticed??? I NEED A FOREVER HOME!!! I'M FUN, I'M CUTE, I'M GENTLE!!! LOVE ME DAMN IT!!! Sorry. I don't mean to get rude, it's just that I get so lonely sometimes for a family of my own. Maybe a few kids to squeel and run with me in the back yard. Toss a ball, I'm really good at that. Oh, did I mention that I'll dance across the kitchen floor for you whenever you or one of your friends come into the house? It's very entertaining I'm told. Well, that's it. end of story. You know what to do now. Just pick up the phone. Or drop an e mail to Laura. I'll me here.., waiting for you.
Signing off for now, with lots of Wiggles and kisses, your boxer buddy, Justice the Wonder Dog. P.S. Please call soon. :(

Justice is an eight year old male Boxer with natural ears. Rescue had him neutered, he is up to date on his shots, and surprisingly he is heartworm negative. His coat is shiny brindle with a white chest and white on the tips of his feet. This boy loves people and his fur is so unbelievable soft and plush that you will not be able to stop hugging and kissing his squishy face - I kid you not! Justice is very smart and listens intently to whatever you want him to do. He comes to Rescue knowing many commands: "paw" "sit" "out" "in" "up" "(lay) down" "beg (which he does sitting up on his hindquarters and waving his front paws together in a praying fashion) "No" "Off". In the short time he has been here he has also learned to ring a bell with his nose that is attached to our side doorknob to let us know when he wants to go out. Once out he does his business quickly. He does NOT seem to like other dogs (typical behavior of dogs that are tied outside) so he should go to a home with no dogs. While at his foster home Justice has not met any cats yet and so, to err on the side of safety, he should be an only pet. So far Justice walks very well on a leash with no pulling. But he is a strong dog so, like any other boxer, children should NOT be walking him. Justice is a fairly quiet dog, barking only when he has something important to say. He likes to play a respectful game of toy tug or toss and is very gentle when finding a hand inside his mouth rather than the toy. He knows the difference! One half hour after coming into his new foster home he was racing about the house like a puppy with a stuffed bear waving back and forth in his mouth, having a good ole time. Justice does NOT drool and he is a neat eater, that is to say, the food goes in his mouth not all over the floor! Nice! He is not crated at night and there is no problem. Although he has only been left alone in the house for a brief time there has been absolutely no problems what so ever. Whoever gets this boy will live happily ever after with lots of doggie kisses and wiggle butts!
