This dog has been adopted but has not yet completed the two week "trial period" in it's new home. Should the placement prove to be a poor fit for dog and/or family, he/she will be moved to the AVAILABLE section on the Available Dogs page.

7/5/01 - Kayla is four or five years old. She has been dog friendly in the past (we haven't introduced her to my male dog yet) and pays no mind to cats so far as I can see. We were at our vet's office who has an in house cat and they were very friendly. She has shown food aggression with one of the dogs but not with people. Her former foster home had two kids whom the foster mom said she was great with. They would sit and watch TV together and use Kayla as a pillow! Even though Kayla is good with all types of animals and people, we suggest she go to a family as an only dog so she can get all the attention and love you have to give.
7/4/01 - Kayla has been with us for almost three weeks now and we have grown to love this girl!!! She really knows her stuff!!! She takes direction like a PRO!! She has the wisdom of her years yet yearns for human contact so much that she almost bursts out of her skin when you are ready to play. We just spent about twenty minutes playing fetch in the yard - I mean Fetch - like it's supposed to be played....where you throw the ball and she brings it back and drops it at your feet for you to throw again....Fetch. And in the next minute, she is content laying by my side as I write this for you. I know you've looked at many dogs on this site but I want you to remember Kayla the next time you are here, and think of what it might be like having her at home with you as you look at all of the dogs that also need to be saved. Not everyone will have that great dog that you talk about for years after they are gone, but you will if you choose Kayla.
