Maximus

Adopted 1/16/02.

1/10/02- Maximus is doing very well in my home.  He is very playful and gets along well with my female Cocker Spaniel puppy, Lilly, who is 7 months old.  Believe me, this is a testament to his patience, because she can be a real
pain.  She steals his bones and is very stingy with her toys, but he puts up
with her happily.  He is hearing-impaired. He can't hear me at all when I
call him, which is why I think he would be best in a home with another dog.
If I call Lilly, he will follow her.  He will sit down if you show him a
treat and point at him or put your hand on his back.  Last night it snowed
about 14 inches where I live.  He loved the snow, I think it was his first
encounter with it and he had a ball jumping around in it and eating it.  He
is doing well with crate training.  I keep him in the crate while I am at
work and he sleeps the whole time while I'm gone. In fact I usually have to
open the cage and tap him to get him up.  I keep the leash on my doorknob,
and lately he has been going up to it and hitting it with his nose when he
wants to go out.  I did not train him to do this, so I think it is safe to
assume that he is a very smart boy.  He has a few slip ups every once in a
while, but he is still young and I think he has great potential! He is a
very sweet dog.

1/3/02 - Maximus is doing great in foster care with 2 other dogs. He is a big mush and loves to be cuddled. We think he maybe partially hearing but are unsure at this time. We will do further testing but if it matters please do not apply. He is a gem of a dog with a phenomenal temperament, and whether he can hear fully or not, he deserves the best home.

12/29/01 - Maximus is a 6 month old white male boxer that can hear. He is neutered and ready to go. He is a sweetheart of a dog that needs to go with a family that is around or can take him to work with them. He is pretty well housebroken and with time he will be great. His owner moved after having him for only 2 months. He has had 2 homes already in his short life. He is in foster with a cocker and beagle and is a love. He is very playful and a typical boxer pup. He was great with my 5 year old son but would be best with older kids or boxer experienced kids and parents. He deserves the best.
