Millie

Adopted 5/5/02
3/31/02 - Millie was adopted out to a wonderful family with 2 children and a Boston terrier last month. Her exuberant personality proved to be a bit much for them, and they sadly returned her to Boxer Rescue two weeks ago. She is currently living with another lively boxer brother and a calmer collie brother. She loves every 2-legged and 4-legged friend she comes across!
Obedience training and time spent controlling her boundless energy and enthusiasm for life will turn her into a wonderful pet. She is a little over a year old and spent the first year of her life tied outside. She does NOT like to be kenneled and we find no need for it ... she is NOT destructive, nor does she get into anything when left alone. She does not chew nor have accidents in the house. When you return home, it is best to let her outside immediately for a potty break because she has occasionally not made it to the door in her excitement.
She is not food or toy aggressive, nor does she mind having her feet, ears, legs, etc. touched. She is very intelligent with a delightful sense of humor (she snitches the dish towel and struts around until you notice - waving it at you; she barks & bounces on her front paws with her butt up in the air to get your attention to play with her). When she was returned she was nipping but no longer nips. She knows basic commands: sit, down, and we're working on stay. She DOES bolt from the house, so you must be very careful when opening doors, as she has perfected her Houdini escape artist trick. She LOVES car rides! She loves cuddling and loves sleeping curled right up next to you. I took her to be groomed 2 days ago and the groomer said she was wonderful: had her bath great, let the groomer clip her nails, wasn't afraid of the vacuum or the dryer.
She will be an incredible pet for someone willing to put the time into obedience training and spending time working on obedience issues. She is a "diamond in the rough". We absolutely love her and hope the right forever home comes along soon for this exceptional gal.
