Update from the foster home:
"Peaches doesn't do the "slink' any more and is a less wary. She also is making great strides in potty training. Also is wonderful with all the children she's met. She is also wonderful on leash, doesn't pull especially when other dogs are around. She also will sit when we stop. I've started with a few hand commands and she learns fast. She'll sit now with voice or hand command only. We've hung a "jingle bell" on or door and are making her swat at it every time we take her out. In the evening she runs into her crate, sits and waits for her biscuit, and then lies down and is quite all night."
8/3/00 - Foster home report: Miss Peaches and our dog did very well Sunday. They romped and snoozed alternatively all day. Peaches has some interesting quarks. She doesn't know how to go up or down stairs, although she's learning. She will start down the stairs and throw her hind end up into the air and do a handstand as she goes down the stairs, it's hilarious! Going up is almost as funny. She wasn't brave enough to go from our bedroom down to the first floor. She will not eat or drink when another dog is around. She slinks around and circles the bowl. When I put our dog in another room, or hide him from view, she'll eat. She will take one kibble, drop it on the floor and then eat it. She treats the bowls very warily. She's had a few accidents in the house. She has peed in the yard, and hopefully when she gets the hang of things that will solve itself. She seems to be an escape artist also. We grabbed her by the collar and she did the "move" and slipped her collar. She also is very adept at getting out the door quickly. We haven't done a kid test yet, but I'm not worried. She is not hand shy at all and I've grabbed at her a few time and she doesn't flinch. She is very sweet and loves to please. She was great in the crate last night, although we couldn't tell if she was snoring or whining quietly.
7/31/00 - Peaches is a flashy fawn female boxer with natural ears and a docked tail. She was found as a stray and is approximately 1 year old. Peaches always has a boxer wiggle for every person and dog that she meets. Even the cat was worthy of a wiggle from her ! She will be a wonderful addition to any family who can provide her with the love and attention she deserves. Peaches is already spayed and will be brought up to date on shots and HW tested prior to adoption.
