"
Pudge"
This dog has been adopted but has not yet completed the two week "trial period" in it's new home. Should the placement prove to be a poor fit for dog and/or family, he/she will be moved to the AVAILABLE section on the Available Dogs page.
11/6/01 - The home we thought we had for Pudge did not work out and here is why:
Pudge had been kept outside for the first two years of his life and has
learned to go to the bathroom on concrete. Therefore, if you want to
keep him in an area that has a cement floor for any period of time - bad
idea, he will have accidents as he thinks this is his personal bathroom.
He is fine on carpeting and we have him out while we are at work. We do
have someone come in at lunch to let out all the maniacs :) Pudge is a
wonderful, sweet boy who deserves only the best. We had him at the dog
beach this weekend and he played with every dog he saw and pooped
himself out. He loves everyone and will give you tons of kisses, along
with a full butt wiggle ! Please help us find Pudge his forever home.
10/9/01 - Update: Pudge has gained some weight since he came into rescue, he's now up to about 70 pounds and looking good :) He is still as friendly and playful as before. He had been with two cats and children as young as three. He is great with any dog he meets and he needs to be placed with another dog because of his deafness. He has very mild separation anxiety but when he settles in and realizes he is not going anywhere it dissipates. He has a very short tail and when he sees you coming his whole backside wiggles! As you can see from his new pictures, Pudge enjoys everything. Please consider him for his new forever home.
9/30/01 - Sadly, Pudge is coming back into rescue. The female Boxer in Pudge's home does not like having him there and we are afraid that Pudge will get hurt because he is very gentle and will not fight back. Pudge
remains ever loving and loyal and would love to find him the perfect
home. Please consider this guy who unfortunately has to find a new home.
8/19/01 - Pudge is a three year old white neutered male. He came into rescue after being seized by the humane society as a cruelty case. Pudge was left outside, full of parasites, living in his own feces and starving. Kind
neighbors called the humane society and when they saw Pudge's conditions
they took him. Despite his past, Pudge is EXTREMELY sweet and loving. He
wiggles as soon as you look at him and loves to give kisses. He will
also follow you all over the house and desperately wants to be a lap
dog. He also well mannered, doesn't jump, walks well on leash and enjoys
breezes while riding in the car. Pudge also gets along very well with
the three other Boxers in his foster home (2 females and another male).
He has shown no food or toy aggression and sleeps with the others at
night. Pudge is also deaf, which basically means he is a sound sleeper:)
Because of his deafness he would do better in a home with another dog as
he tends to get stressed out when we leave him. He would do well with
older children also. Pudge has gone through a lot before coming to us,
please consider this special boy and give him his forever home.
